CEL-Evap Leak, The Battle Goes On............

I have been fighting the evap leak for over a year now, but I still cannot find it. I have checked everything under the hood which could possibly be a problem and I cannot find anything, I have even replaced the purge solenoid. My next plan is to check everything around the fuel tank more in detail, especially the elbow on one of the lines. I have a diagram that I printed from a previous post that describes all of the lines around the fuel tank area, but Iam having a hard time locating the elbow that may be the possible leak. Do I need to drop the tank to get a better look? If I have to drop the tank, what is the best and safest way to do this? Like I said, I have replaced the purge solenoid along with the gas cap, and all of the vac lines and the canister under the hood along with the line that goes from under the hood down to the hard line under the Jeep look good. Iam trying to avoid the dealer doing a smoke test on it, but if I cannot find anything it looks as though it may be my only option. Thanks again for your time, Scooby

A few XJ owners have found bad vac lines under the body along the frame rails.

Look at my pic see the one rusty steal line? Thats a evap line and is the only rusty line on my jeep and is only rusty by the part by the wheel that gets all the salt on it. I plan to replace mine. Maybe yours is rusted there.
