Question Cell Phone Mounts

I have a vent mount for my Galaxy, but I'm looking for something better. What do you use? Photos appreciated.

I use a bluetooth stereo that broadcasts my google maps directions and streams pandora from my phone. So i just sit my phone in my cup holder or keep in pocket

I got this one: Mobile Device Holder
Comes with an extra lighter spot on the bottom as well as 2 USB ports. Works pretty good for me! BTW, the "bendable" piece on it is extremely stiff, so don't plan on moving it too far from the original factory setting!

I use a gripgo sometimes works good you just have to clean it every so often to keep it tacky

That's pretty cool. Still, I like seeing the screen, so I need a mount.

Velcro..... stuck right above the center vent, enough of an incline to see my maps or glance at who's calling me

Got this one at Best Buy. The phone end is resting on the dash, and it can be flipped around from portrait to landscape. Hasn't fallen off yet.

I wanted something that wouldn't block my window, wouldn't block my vents, wouldn't interfere with my shifter, didn't use my accessory lighter, wouldn't spin like a possessed Linda Blair, and didn't have hanging wires everywhere, yet at fingers touch. What I did was combine the Bracketron and the 18" Akron. I thought about getting the shorter Arkon, but I figured if this one was too long, I could just bend it. Luckily, it was the perfect distance. I cut the top off the Bracketron, grinded it smooth, and repainted it. Then, I attached the Akron and wired everything behind the dash and ran the wires through the gooseneck. This thing will not move. It's as close as reading the cell phone in your hand, but hands free. Just move your eyes slightly right. It takes about 3sec to hook up my cell phone when I get into the car.

Wow that's a huge distraction I hope you don't read it. I bought snap strips and put it on the upper right hand of my instrument trim. It only there for music and so the wires can be ran behind the dash. Before it was in my cup holder but the wires were a mess. Don't text or talk while driving. IT CAN WAIT. it also looks like it would invade my personal space. My .02!

Ram Mounts

I use the Ram Mounts for holding a GPS on my bike, and have the X-mount in daily work car to hold iphone, and have another X-mount and windshield suction cup mount for other vehicles. Also have there mounts for holding GoPro camera.
I have used many others and I think RAM is one of the better ones. They are not cheap, but IMHO think they are worth the extra $$
Goto there site, amazon, or ebay..... there are many configurations, and prices. You are bound to find one that will work perfectly.

Link to the RAM X-Grip™ Mounts

Here are only a couple examples of the X-Grip mount, BTW which will work for just about any phone

Also found this water tight box that I may have to get for our Moab trips

If you look at the other options, above and below, you can see that they are in the windshield. To me, that is dangerous, obstructive and a huge distraction. The suction cup coming loose while driving is dangerous. I've had it happen to me, and I immediately got rid of the suction cup mount. I guess you don't know about bluetooth, GPS, or Pandora. No one should text while driving, I don't.

Just look at my solution, and it solves a lot of the problems. It's hands free, not in the windshield, not across the dash, not in the vents, not in the cup holder causing you to look down-pick it up-and have an accident with a cell phone in your hands. It isn't in the cigarette lighter twirling around, forcing you to look down and fix it while using GPS. No loose wires or objects around your shifter. I think my solution is great. I'm sorry that you don't like it.

Well it's a good thing it's not in your windshield cause you already have enough things blocking your view already. Not being mean just stating that there are better places to mount it with out being like 5 inches from you. I will say it is unique. Happy jeeping

At work I had to ban the ones that clip on the vents. Too many broken vents. We do not use Jeeps but just my experience with them.

I use the iOttie as well and I like it. It has the Smart Tap that clasps the phone when you push your phone into it. The suction cup has not failed at all, even in the south Alabama heat we have down here.
