Center Console Cover

I have looked a decent bit online and only found one Center Console Cover. It resembles a tire's tread.

Has anyone a Center Console Cover recommendation? I have painted it with DCBC and its now flaking on me. I just want to slap a cover on it. The Tire tread one may get a bit too hot for my liking.

Sand it down and repaint with the right paint (what is DCBC) it wont flake. There is a long thread for changing the interior color and how to paint items. I did mine and there is no flaking. I sanded it smooth, hit it with highbuild primer and sanded. Sprayed with Duplicolor body color and several coats of clear (wet sanding in between)

Lol maybe. Did not put 2+2 together. Might be his prep also. I did a base of krylon fusion silver to cover. The blue alone was not giving me the Colorado.

By DCBC I was referring to duplicolor bumper coating. And perhaps I have the wrong name...By console I ment the arm rest in the center.

I followed Dragonnis thread about changing the interior, the only thing flaking is the center arm rest lid.

That lid cover would do the trick. Stinks there isn't a neoprene one for a 98. Ty guys.

I think there actually is a neoprene one. Iggees seat covers will sell a console cover as an option with seat covers. You might contact them to see if they can just make a console lid cover for you. They have neoprene, vinyl, cloth, quite a variety of colors.

Did mine with a can of red plasti dip. I do beat the sh/! Out of my jeep and it gets used a good bit and it is in really good shape. Ive had it for maybe 4 months. You can always peel it right off and redo it also. Thanks. Btw its a speay that turns to a rubbery stretchy plastic. It will peel off like a big piece off tape once you get it started

Another simple solution I have seen for the center arm rest is to pick up a neoprene knee pad from a sporting goods store and slip that over. Nice inexpensive way to cover it up and provide some padding.

Thats different ha! I may just try that if I can find a cheap $10 one. Rest my arm on it on the way to practice, slide it on for my own use hah.

Genius! And then you always have at least one knee pad for roadside repair moments. Important for us guys with old knees.

Hah thanks. I'm worried about that one making my arm sweat in the summer but I do like the pockets on the back end. P

I like that cover from Quadratec. May have to get one of those. I find my elbow rests right on the lock.

Form a clean, wet chamois over the console cover with the edges tucked under it. Trim off the excess and let it dry. It is cool and not slippery.

Trek Armor has a center console cover, padded, listed under accessories on their website. $34.95. I am ordering this to match the seat covers. I have tried several solutions for this and I'm hoping this will stay in place.

but this isn't much better... it tends to pop off if you open the console all the way.
It's better than nothing but its not great.
