Center Console Sub?

Does anyone know what size sub this is? And how to take it out? I unpluged it because it was really crackly. It is a 2002 tj 4.0 5 speed

I did mine Remove the console turn it over then you have to remove the amp there are 4 screws that go in from the outside that hold the sub woofer in place its kind of a special speaker with 2 inputs I wound up tying them together and installing a I think it is 6 inch coaxle only I clipped the wires to the tweeter it seems to work fine I am sure there are others with better advice. Good luck with it

Blew my middle console sub today.. - Jeepz.com
This thread covers pretty much everything you need to know about retrofitting it in the enclosure. I am hooking mine up tomorrow and know the red black combo does not work for mine and I'm hoping the purple and grey leads work for the sub. I also have a 6.5" Kicker Comp VT sub, cant comment on how it sounds though.

I changed my deck to an alpine and blew my console sub too. It's a 6.5" for sure you can fit an 8" but its gonna take some modding. I threw a Kicker Comp VT 6.5" in and its just fine. Your not gonna offend anyone with a 6" sub just lower your expectations on the ammount of bass your going to get.

Im honestly not sure if its 2 0r 4 ohms. I run a Sony 750 4 channel amp and bridged 2 channels to my 10" and the other 2 channels to the Kicker and just turned the level down to it. The bass fills in nicely toward the front but isn't blowing the doors off.

You don't need a sub to listen to country. My kid just about cries when his sub doesn't work. There is just something about using smaller wires and duct tape that amps don't like. Don't worry, I have plenty of life insurance on him. New Jeep parts in my future.

I believe the stock amp is like 75w of factory trash so maybe the 6.5" is getting like 35w with it. I changed the deck and ran the dash, soundbar and factory sub speaker ( with the factory amp) and that console sub blew like 2 days later. Hence the changes you might be ok but distortion could junk the sound.
