Iirc, pull off the long piece across the top at the windshield, then there are about 3 screws holding it on... But someone who's done it more recently will probably correct me....

Here 'ya go...

Jeep Horizons :: TJ Stereo Install

It's pretty straightforward - clips on the defrost panel, two screws on top of the center panel, and pull straight out on the panel to remove.

If the clips get hung up in the dash assembly (rather than coming out with the panel), just take a needle nose to get them out of the dash assembly, and clip them back onto the panel before re-installing.

There is a 3rd screw behind the ashtray on pre-2003 models.

No need to stand corrected Scoob, you're 100% right about the two top screws and the later models that have the ashtray delete bezel do have two tabs instead of a screw at the bottom. You do have to pull it off with force. I'm pretty sure that change was made in 2003.

You always do a fine job sharing your wealth of information . Off subject, I'm gonna look into the seat covers you make. I'd like to get my Dad a new set for his TJ for Fathers day. I'll send you a PM.

I've had two stolen out of my blazer. They would just smash the center dash piece and rip the radio out :/ and they smashed my window each time. It's not easy finding those two pieces for a 2door 1991 s10blazer. There not really around too much. And I had to do it twice

I find after you remove all the screws (I had 3. made my own ash tray delete) you can slip a flat blade screwdriver into the crack on each side to help pry it out.

Check the radio install guide in my sig. Yours has an extra screw under the ashtray like everyone else mentioned. I just use a long flat head screw driver and pry it off at the bottom corners.

Look on the bright side(?)
On my old CJ the buggers pulled the whole dash, even took the bolts.

How the heck did someone/anyone not notice that going on is beyond me.

Go into watch a HS basketball game, come out to find something doesn't look right.

You telling me a guy carrying a complete dash, gauges/radio/tape deck, walks past you late at night, and you wouldn't think it odd?

Nope, nobody saw nothing.
