You have stickers under the hood? My hood gets so hot I can barely touch it!

I don't have a sticker collection yet
But if I did, it would be on a set of jerry cans. So I guess my next mod with have to be some can holders.

Saw this today and am considering it. I've seen used tops in my area for $150-$200 that need a little love. Might grab a spare and see what I can do. Has anyone attempted this, or similar?

Thanks for all the great ideas. i think i have reading this for a month now, during work, dont tell my boss.
I have accomplished a few of the ideas i have gotten here on my 06.
painted fender flares and front bumper-rustoleum bed liner
LED light conversion -Red
Paracord grab handles and passanger oh sh*% bar
cheap light bar-shower handle (until i can build my bumper)

Just picked up Red fusion paint for interior and i have a few questions.
is 2 cans enough? How do you get the window cranks off?

Go look under "tired of your interior? Change it!" Its got all of that. And as far as two cans...depends on what all your painting.

We need proof! If theres no pics then you didnt do it lol

As for the fusion, it depends on the color you are starting with and the color you are going to, I went from dark gray to yellow so I used a few extra cans, I think it was 4 or so. but yea check out this thread for detailed info thanks to Dragonii http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/tire...it-152938.html

Yeah. I thought it was pretty cool. I analyzed my hard top and located clamps and window surround that would work quite well. I'm going to pick up a used top and give it a go. In theory, it seems manageable, but I'm sure ill run into a fair share of issues. Ill document it and post my findings.

Are you wanting to have individual removable panels or just the windows? The windows wouldn't be too difficult if you didn't want them to open. Just be a matter of getting a good seal after cutting the window seal to size. Let me know how this works out, I'd really be interested in making my top almost one big piece of polycarbonate (tinted of course).

I'm actually doing it just as the images suggest. Only difference is I am adding a cut pattern for the rear section to mount a venting sunroof insert. I figured it would help with the wind capture/drag of the rear section while driving with the 2 front pieces off at higher speeds. Don't want the bitch ripping off on the highway.

That sounds good. I'd really be interested in you build thread. Don't think it would cost much to do unless you royally screw up a top, then it be like peeing into a cash register. Always running into money

Not sure if anyone else has tried this but, if your soft top is looking grim, take some Black Magic tire wet to it for a freshen up. It has held well in sun and rain. No fade spots or bleeding. Here's a before and after.
