Bad idea. With the rear drive shaft out there is nothing holding in the trany fluid, it will quickly drain. I broke my rear u joints and removed the rear shaft, in the 3 miles I towed it I lost most of my fluid and not once actually put it in gear. So bad idea.

I just removed the shaft not the yokes or gaskets

Did you disconnect at the axle yoke then pull out the slip yoke? It shouldn't leak IIRC. If you have a Rubicon I think it would.

[QUOTE=Cowboymiller;2478586]Would love to see pics of the finished product. I havent decided where to put mine yet. How cumbersome is it to put on and get off......yes i asked how cumbersome it is to get off..... Lol

Here you go, it's not bad at all I don't think. I really have no other options because I'm getting the Rampage frameless top next week and I don't want it on either bumper. Plus the frameless won't allow me to mount in on the roll bars in back where I had it originally because of the design of the top and I don't want to move it all the down or I will loose my cooler room!!

Still gotta cut some of the bolt off to make it level with the wing nuts but that's going to get done tonight!

Im especially fond of the bamboo and twine look, and the log bumpers is just an added bonus

Plasti-dipped one wheel (spare was done about a month ago) before the weather changed quick!! Wondering if I should have gone with bed liner spray instead, for easier touch ups but then I would have 2 1/2 cans of plast-dip just sitting around? Thoughts?

I plasti-dipped my rims, and knock on wood, theyre holding up great, someone actually scrapped part of it off , i just rubbed it down and got it flat again, and sprayed over it with the plasti-dip. I like it cause you dont have to sand the rim down, so it doesnt destroy the finish, and if you get tired of it, you just peel it off

Or if you're not happy with the plasti-dip, try and return it, and buy the bedliner

Good points! I think I'm committed to plasti-dip, I do like the idea of being able to go back to the original look! Thanks!

Moved my Hi-lift to the hood and installed the boat horns:

They fit quite nicely on the passenger side in the engine bay, they are loud cause the engine compartment amplifies the noise also.

Don't do rattle can. Just dip the lug nuts in the "bucket" like they do with the tools
