Had to add a lap belt to the rear seat this week, picked it up from advanced auto for $15. pretty easy install and heres the result:

The 2 on the ends are mine Blake on the left and Maya on the right, the one in the middle Alexis is their cousin from Ohio.

Is that legal where you are? I wonder in an accident would insurance cover having more occupants than the manufacturer designed for? Adding a seat belt for an extra passenger, while greatly increasing the safety factor, may not sit well with insurance companies in a worse case scenario. Not flaming you at all, I'm just wondering.

I cant take the credit for coming up with the idea. I got it from wwch99tj. I read in a post from another thread and it gave me the idea, thanks!

Why the 8th light up front? why not put it as a reverse light? also what wattage and light pattern are those lights? I actually like the idea of lining up the entire top of the windshield with square lights, it looks better than I thought it would.

Ok my final assessment is what I built sucks. I need to go back to the drawing boards. The 8 light was because they come in packs of 2. Not as a reverse lights because I already have reverse aftermarket lights. Also they did not throw out any more light than a dollar store flashlight. I love the idea of the square lights like it. So I will probably be back in a month or so with a final very improved product.

I used JB Weld to set the washers midway up the bolt, so I could have the mirror lifted off the hinge a bit. The rubber washers keep the mirrors from vibrating when I am driving.

The first two pics are of the drivers and passengers side mirrors from my drivers seat. See, the dash doesn't block the passenger side one!

The last picture is the sweet grab handles I made using LilYeller's tutorial.
Love the cop car in the reflection!!!
Awesome idea - way to think outside the box on that one

Did you prep that surface at all, or just wipe it and spray it down? I need to cover up some rock chips and pits and just spraying w/ paint is going to make all the pits stand out!!!

Nice look - I am going to do this ASAP

Just clean it well before spraying it. No sanding, just wipe it down with something that will get all the dirt and oil off.
I did mine this past Saturday.

Why does it suck? Because of the light output?

The BF has a 2002 Jeep and the flares are grey. Was thinking of plasti dipping them. But I have few questions....

1) do you know how long it lasts?
2)plasti dip or the rustowhatever spray?
3) how easily is it scratchable?

could the output be low because of the way you wired them?
A serial vs parallel or hybrid kind of scheme?

I think that is why they weren't as bright but also the bracket that holds them, does not hold them well enough. After driving three were loose and one was just hanging. The brakcets are also dificult to tighten. I am gonna look into it in the next few days and let you guys know. I was thinking of just going with some square kc lights because the pair I have I love!

Regular krylon fusion should be best IMO for the fenders. I used soap n water. Scrubbed, let it dry and spray away. Use flash cards between the fender and jeep works great and is quick to prep

Careful with fusion. I did all the cladding on my old zj. Looked great. But any drop of gas and its off and have to respray it

^ I used the Plastidip on my fenders and I couldn't be happier with it. I've had it on for over a month now and wheeled three times since, including a heavily wooded trail earlier today. No scratches or anything.

To prep I pulled them off, washed with Dawn dish soap, then wiped them down with acetone (the real stuff not finger nail polish remover which contains oils), then sprayed like 4 thin coats. Also did bumpers, and works great. I love the texture.

I used krylon on mine and it's cracking and chipping... You have any problems with that?
