I've read so many different opinions on the thread so far that I'm basically as lost as I was at the beginning XD
I don't really want to use a bedliner since it will be tougher to clean and fix. I don't really like the appearance of it as much.
Duplicolor makes a good product but you have to use the right paint for the right project and the key is in the prep.
Flares and side view mirrors I recommend Duplicolor Bumper coating. It has a factory plastic look and feel, bonds to plastics like Fusion and is very easy to use.
Jeep logo I recommend Plastidip. very easy.
I just painted my whole grill with it.

This may help..... from another post.

My dash

My old trucks bumper..... after about a year.

I've also done a write up on how to paint your interior.
Follow the same basic instructions for prepping and painting the flares and you should be fine. None of what you want to paint will require and sanding.

Ok I know it might not be the same but I used plastic dip on my rims, grill, and hood. And I bought 5 cans to be safe I ended up only using 4 though. I bought a 1 pint container of acetone and it worked just fine. I don't know how much that will help you but if it does great!

I forgot to answer the "how much" question.

To do the flares, mirrors and logo.

1 can of acetone, 4 cans of Duplicolor Bumper coating and one can of Plastidip. If painting the whole grill with Plastidip, two cans. My grill used 1.5 to get a good thick coating. Use the left over Plastidip to black out the "Trail rated" logo or to redo your door handles or those plastic triangle pieces in the windows by the mirrors on full doors.

That should do.

No sanding needed with these products.
Duplicolor Dumper coating (Autozone or other auto-parts store) is made for plastic. It bonds to the plastic like Krylon Fusion does so sanding is a waste of time. Just make sure to clean it well first to remove and oils, I use acetone for this.
Same thing goes for Plastidip (Home Depot and Lowes), no sanding. Just make sure it's good and clean.

Yep....

Flexible Bumper Coating
Dupli-Color® Flexible Bumper Coating renews and protects weathered or discolored bumpers, molding, and rub strips. This tough protective coating offers a uniform, solid color with superior adhesion to thermoplastic rubber and polyurethane bumpers that won't flake, chip, or peel.

Dupli-Color :: Flexible Bumper Coating

My first experience with it was on my old Ranger. Within the first year of buying the truck the black finish started peeling off of the frame around the A/C and stereo. Ford wanted to make it a pita to get it fixed. I worked at Autozone and we sold this stuff so I decided to give it a try.
I cleaned off the remaining paint from Ford, wiped it down with acetone and painted it with Duplicolor Bumper Coating.... no sanding.

Here's a picture of that same piece about 8 years later when I sold the truck. Still looking like new.

I also painted the ugly grey lower bumper on that truck with it about a year before I sold it. That part of the Ranger bumper is made of the same type of plastic as Jeep fender flares.

My current Jeep has had it's mirrors, center console, radio bezel and more painted with it.

The stuff works. If anyone tells you different then they don't know to use paint properly.

Just got a jeep now to start with the bed liner and plasti spray! Love this thread so many good ideas. I also want to build a box in place of the rear seat to act as a trunk that lockes. My jeep did not come with a center console and that is one thing I'd like to get. It is a 2001 what options do I have?

I've always thought the same thing. It's not like you keep your plates covered while your driving around town.

While very true I'll take my chances haha. People probably have way more personal info on their Facebook than a license plate could offer.

Does anyone know a good way to light up the inside of my bumper? I want to be able to illuminate the "W"s on the ends.

Like one guy said. You don't drive around with it covered.
There was a Guy in my friends apartment complex and he always had a piece of paper covering the vin on the dash.

Was the car up for repo? The repo agent has to verify vin to take a car, course your vin can be found in more then one spot. But the dash is the most obvious.

No clue. It was some crazy old man who drove a 98 Ford ranger.
