Acetone, paint thinner, or gasoline works well

Those bikes look awesome! I'd never heard of them, what's the price range on one of those?

Just did the flares and handles headlight bezels with plasti dip and the rock sliders with spray on bed liner. had a bit of a problem with the plasti dip peeling off along with the masking tape after drying. I noticed most people use te bed liner for the flares. How does te plasti dip hold up to a pressure washer after a day of wheelin. I have a feeling it will peel off if I get close

My brother in law was considering black wheels for his white F150 but was on the fence about it. I told him about all the plasti dipping going on here and he bought like 6 cans of it. So far, he's done the wheels and both bumpers. I talked to him earlier today and he said it held up perfect at the car wash. He was careful not to get too carried away around the edges, which is where it's easier to peel. Now he's wanting to do his grill. He's hooked

See I think solid red tail lights like on the JKs and the newer chevy trucks look good when the Jeep/truck are black. Plus what I did makes them "blacked out" and light up round and loose no light. But to each their own.

My Jeep came with the front turn and side markers tinted and I hate it but you can still see plenty of light. Not near as bad as I see some people with around where I live.

I want to do that to my new 3rd brake light (removed carrier) and have it say "I roll" so maybe people won't get so close, and I think it would be fun.
It's done with a product called VHT Nite-Shades. It is a Translucent black paint designed for painting light covers. It barely has any effect on the light output when used properly.

And it works on red Jeeps too.

I have pressure washed mine several times and the plasti dip on my headlight rings seems to hold up to it fine.

I keep telling everyone to use Duplicolor Bumper coating. I have tried to pressure wash that stuff off of my mirrors (testing it's strength) and it holds on for dear life.

Bedliner was designed to be painted onto a hard, non-flexible, metal surface. DBC was designed for flexible plastic materials....

I know what it is. I've seen it before. I just think it would be cheaper just to take the tail lights off.

Personally, and this is just me, but I want my lighting to be as bright as possible. My 3rd brake light can reflect off a stop sign a block away.

I didn't mean to start anything. Only posting what little mod I did to my Jeep. That's the great thing about a Jeep...everyone can make it theirs to fit their personality. I love mine and really that's all that matters. Afterall I am the one paying for the Jeep, not anyone else.

So, my next questions...brighter light bulbs...what brand? The guy at O'Reilly's told me my Jeep wasn't set up for LED. And holy balls were they expensive. Is LED really that much brighter? What have other members done for brighter lights? Any help would be great!

Currently my Jeep is at the dealership getting his undercarriage undercoated. They better take care of him or they are going to have one angry Asian on their hands.

You can put LED's in the rear of the Jeep. And yes they are THAT much brighter, they use a pinpoint light that is visible much farther away than a regular heat element halogen bulb. Im not 100% sure what you need to do to make the super fast blinker stop on the JK but I know for the TJ you can purchase another blinker relay that will fix it. The problem is that the LED's dont use as much power as the regular bulbs so your system reads it as a burnt out bulb and makes the blinker lights go at hyper speed. That being said they are not cheap at all. If you wanted to just put some LED bulbs in place of the halogen bulbs you might still have that issue with the fast flasher. Might want to post something up in the JK section or do a quick search about it. Sorry I cant help more but my avatar is proof that you can put LED's in Jeeps.

On our bike forum we were using a guy called Florida Joe. He is on Ebay. He had lots of fixes for led's and tons of kit for every thing from a simple strip or blinker to remote control and music synced.

Hmm...didn't think about inspection, tho I don't need to until 5 years from now. I was thinking about removing the portion for the reserve lights. A member told me how and what to use to get it off. I left my headlights and fog lights white, so having the whites of the reserve lights won't look bad.

In Illinois we don't have to inspect at all one small benefit to living here.

Milwaukee, WI. You only get an inspection if the car is 5 years or older and it's only every other year after that.

I am assuming that "inspection tags" are the same thing as registration tags. I pay $75 (plus $20 truck fee and $15 personalize plate fee) every year. But you only have to go in for emissions if your car is 5 years or older and every other year. The registration tag you have to pay every year. I normally do mine online.
