Did you use gum to stick the mirrors on? Hehee. Great uses of the existing space and hardware. It is just installed on the existing bolts for the windshield...right?

Looks good. How's the passenger mirror visibility with the doors on? Or do you not know yet?

Has anyone ever TIG welded anything to the body of their TJ ? I was looking to make some custom marker covers, but cant come up with a better way to attach them than welding to the body. Ideas ?

Yeah there's a ZJ that runs around here with his front doors off and it just looks goofy. Not to mention the guy is a big redneck.

There is an XJ here without doors, it's BA though, he completely chopped the roof and built a custom cage, has 5 points up front, custom bumpers, warn 10k (I think),and it looks kinda silly but it grows on you real quick.

In 69 I had just come back from Nam. Driving a 65 mustang Notch with a 289 stick. Went to the local sand lot where everyone rode dirt bikes. Wrong thing to do. After some beers and some big time prodding I had the doors off and was hitting the tracks. LOL did I screw up that car. Wife was so ticked off I heard about it for a year till I bought her something to replace it. Yeah it was her car.

Jeeps are designed for the doors to be removed. All of these vehicles people keep referring to wanting to take the doors off aren't. I really hope you are joking. Removing the doors of a car will hurt the structural integrity and you could be in real danger in any sort of even low speed accident.

I've seen a couple of Cherokees and Grand Cherokees without doors but they just don't look right. They just look strange. And more unsafe than when a wrangler doesn't have doors which is probably just me justifying that taking my doors off is ok haha

No your right it's NOT as safe. The doors are part of the structure the vehicle, on a wrangler the doors are not structural.

All of this reminds me of when my parents bought a Firebird Formula with T-tops.

They were told not to attempt any hard take offs with the T-tops removed, that the tops provided reinforcement to the body and frame, and that under a hard launch it could potentially damage the structural integrity of the car leading to an improper seal for the top panels.

I saw my stepfather roll his eyes when the guy told him that. But after the first time he pulled off from a light real hard he said "maybe that guy wasn't full of BS after all."

Nope I was serious. Taking the doors off a 95 camaro would be bad ass.

Ok here's one of the easiest thing I've added. My YJ didn't have cigg. Outlets so I picked them up at O'Reillys for like 3 bucks a piece... ignore the rat nest of wiring behind it.!
