Post pictures if you do it. Would love to see it all said an done.
You do NOT need to sand for it, that is the upside to plasti-dipping your grille it is completely reversible if you don't like it. Just a good cleaning with soap and water then spray the dip on!

No sanding or priming needed with plasti-dip. just some good cleaning with degreaser soap (regular dish soap works great)

It will depend on how thick you want it. I'd say buy 5 and use what you need, and find other things to dip or return the excess. It's not exactly an expensive object

If your doing the grill. I would say you would be fine with about 2 cans. The stuff actually goes pretty far. It covers really well.

That's good to know. I'll probably get 3 then. I want to do my entry too.

I put monstaliner in about two weeks ago, it's pretty smooth, runs a little over $100 and you can do the tub and so much more!

Tub? Do you mean the little well in the back?

Also, I've read some other posts about monstaliner. It says to sand. They were putting the black liner down. I want to do the clear if possible. Is that an option?

Tub is the body

TX, by "tub", we mean the body of the Jeep, more precisely, everything behind the front fenders.

If you could seal the doors and tailgate, you could fill it with water and it would be like a Jacuzzi. But since that's a trademarked name, one should say "like a hot tub" Hence we call that part of the Jeep "tub".

I guess I got a little creative in the last part of that post!

I'm wanting to keep the drain holes open. I run with the top and doors off most of the year. Thankfully, the winters here in Texas don't last too long.

I couldn't find eye bolts at Lowes. I had to go to an Ace Hardware. Some things you just can't find at those super stores.

I haven't heard of a clear option, but monstaliner does offer a dyeing process (it's the only one I know that does this) and that would allow you to keep the color of your interior the same color. You can still leave all your drain holes open, I did so you just put tape over them, some people use newspaper/golf tees in them it's a personal preference, but the price and it only took me from Saturday night to Monday afternoon to get this done including full interior disassembly, sanding, rolling it on, drying, and reassembling.

I would highly recommend monstaliner, if you have any more questions their website is very helpful, and it explains with actual test proven evidence why it is better than other brands. This is all of course just my opinion, but I haven't heard a bad thug about mostaliner.

Edit; I live in OK so I'm topless all summer as well, just rolling without any drain plugs for now.

Lag bolts won't work. Those are for drilling into wood studs and such.

I believe so, they can send you a color chip for free if you want to check how close it is to your exterior. I received my liner within a week of ordering it, shipping is very quick.

I built my own Sun top out of grommets and bungee cords. I originally found extra mesh from a screen door I repaired a few months ago. However, I realized I worked as a pool salesman and have complete access to vinyl liners...so my top is now a pretty good temporary fix for rain when I get too lazy for my hard top...pictures up later
