I did find a couple of other issues while I was putting down the insulation...

Most likely the real reason for the high heat on the hwy.

I also found the t/c will not shift out of 2wd, I suspect I did it when I removed the t/c drop.
I have a JK...is this a common problem? I haven't been getting warm toes. Is this something for me to keep my eyes on?

Ask the JK folks if they have issues with floor heat.

If you keep your carpet in, you shouldn't have a problem.

I ripped mine out a long time ago. I've been caught in the rain too many times and I grew tired of shop vaccing the tub.

My feet get a little warm now, but nothing major.

The BF has a TJ and I never noticed the heat. He doesn't have carpeting...but does have floor mats. I wondering if bedlining it would help? I would doubt it but who knows.

It only became an issue when I drove from Chicago to OKC. Between the Ozark mtns, a stiff headwind and 100+ temps, my feet got toasty.

The inner shift boot on the tranny didn't help, that's what keeps the hot air from the drivetrain out of the cab.

You ought to stop talking about the BF!

Bedlining the tub is next on my list. I'm going with the Monstaliner. They have different colors. Not an exact match, but it's hard to match all the different oranges they come out with on the Jeep.

I have line-x and it still gets pretty warm down there! Although I am in Florida where the heat is almost always on!! I have carpet floor mats that tend to help but I couldn't imagine not having at least those.

I have some pretty heavy duty floor mats and I drive around with flip flops on all the time and I don't have a problem with the heat. I have no carpet either.

Well I would talk about my Jeep but it's a JK and not a TJ. Don't want to piss off members but not sticking to the model of the wrangler we are talking about. I think of his TJ as mine anyhow...

This thread works for all years, it was just initially started in the TJ section, we accept all mods because most can be adapted to other models

Let me figure this out…

What's his is yours and what's yours is yours.

Is that right?

bedlined my headlight bezels and running boards, made my own foot pegs, and put a flag in the tail gate, only cost $8 for the bedliner.

Oh and I'll be taking off the foot pegs tomorrow and bedlining them as well. Man that stuff is addicting!

Lemme know how well that flag holds up on at highway speeds?

I really want to get two ATV poles made for the dunes and run an American and POW/MIA flag off each corner I think it would be awesome. Looks good on a Harley why not a wrangler right?

I made mine using old bicycle pegs from my sons bike. Just went to the hardware store. Spent about $6 total.

If you can use it on wheels, playgrounds, etc. can't you use it on the floor of the tub.............I know, I know, everyone keeps saying Monstaliner, herucliner, etc. Just seems that if it cuts down on the heat then and you can use it on all of this other stuff then it would work.

You "can" but its gonna lay a lot of layers to do it. Its just time consuming, thats why the roll on bed liner is better. Its faster and stronger without having to spray even coats after coats after coats.
