Looks cool, but that padding seems awful small. Will that padding reach around a TJ rollbar?

I must say that is really smart, and it doesn't look bad at all.

You plastidipped the entire hood?! I feel like the heat (although there will be much less now) could damage the plastidip? Lemme know how that works, but it does look pretty cool.

Was your engine overheating? If so, you other issues, if not why do you need it to run cooler? If you just like the look, that's cool. But if you are doing it simply to make the engine run cooler, then it would have been easier just to fix the overheating issues. Personally I dont see how this is going to do much.

No hood style!

Actually had to run to the store like that. needed to get another blade for the jig saw.

And for all you folks that think I would just randomly cut holes in my hood...

It was all prep for the hyline louvered hood panel, keeps the engine cool on those hot days, which is every day here in south florida.

Still confused as to what you plastidipped? Louvers look great though, do those just rivet onto the hood?

I plasti-dipped in between the hood and new panel so water and dirt don't get in there and cause rust, also to seal up the metal that I just cut.

How hard was it to cut your hood and install the luvers?

It was actually a pretty easy install. The hardest part was growing the "confidence" to cut my hood lol It took about 4 hours from hood removal thru cleanup, would have been less but I couldn't find a place that sells the blades I needed for my air powered saw.

I love those panels but being in new England winter would get very cold in the jeep I think

Luckily I dont have to worry about that issue. I heard they might be developing an active shutter panel so you can close it off when you need to and open it when you want. In fact if that were available I would have bought that instead of this one cause even tho the engine bay isnt sealed off I would still like to keep some of the rain out. But cant complain, I got this as a scratch and dent direct from hyline and it was alot cheaper than normal just cause of some bubbles in the powder coat that nobody will likely ever notice.

Hyline Offroad, LLC Check their scratch and dent area often, when stuff comes up its not there for long.

Awesome Jeep! Do you plan on keeping the plasti dip or bed-lining it?

Bedlineing it would defeat the purpose of it getting scratched. Plasti dip is smooth and is a spray on rubber. Bed liner would just scratch the hell out of it.

The actual panel I got from Hyline is black powder coat. thats staying like that. I put the plasti-dip on my hood under their panel to keep water and debris from getting in there and wreaking havoc. Probably not needed cause the panel sits pretty snug on the hood but cant be too cautious.

BTW I should mention that the Jeep runs between 10-15 degrees cooler, the needle before was above the 210 now it stays a bit below. The amount of heat that comes out of this thing is unbelievable.

Add a csf 3 row radiator. It should run waaay cooler with the luvers and csf 3 row.
