Anyway, found these 1 1/4" super bright LED marker lights on ebay. I beefed up the rubber grommet with an 1 1/2 rubber tubular brass slip joint washer and pressed them into the trim holes in the rim, then popped the lights in: Solid as a rock! (Just to be sure I hit some really rough and rocky trails yesterday to see if I could shake them loose - they didn't budge!)

I added a couple of waterproof quick disconnects on the back side of the rim so I can easily pop the lights out should I ever need to use the spare.

I originally thought about going with 4 lights, but glad I didn't. These suckers are bright!

Happy Trails!
Very cool

First from under the hood i ran the wires through the firewall in the driver side foot well then through the dash and through a grommet behind the cowl panel (pic below) it was a tight sqeeze but a metal coat hanger helps a ton and then i drilled a hole on each side aded a grommet and sqeezed the wire through there and hooked them up btw i had to use a old extension cord to make the wires on the battery longer so i could route the wires and hve enough slack the cord i had used three wires on the inside a green black and white i used the white wire on the fuse and black on the other wire which was white

This is how I did mine, it was tough to accomplish, but I like how it looks.

I drilled the hole in the pillar, then another hole on the inside at the top of the dash board. Disclaimer I had my entire interior plastic out to accomplish this route.

Almost done blacking the major parts out. Got the plastic overlays off the bumpers today. Back was annoying because I had to take the bumper off.
Just have to do the wheels and all major exterior parts are done.

Has anyone rhino lined the inside of their hard top? Does it deaden sound or simply just change the color?

Worth all $21 and out of the three cans I had half of one left. I drove it to the gas station today. Radio was louder so it help with outside noise.m I'll let you know Thursday when I go to a meeting in desoto (only drive it when I'm off and meetings).

Sorry that typing was all jacked up

Yes it seems to have helped with outside noise quiet a bit and the visual improvements to the interior are just the difference of night and day! Jeep needs to make this standard.

Got the silver plastic covers off the bumpers. Back was a bit annoying. All I have left is to do the wheels.

I'm in the Fort Worth area. Live in Willow Park (west of Fort Worth) if anyone needs the silver Sahara bumper overlays. PM me.

May go out to Tolar Saturday and do some off roading so you can get them there if I go or come pick them up at the house.

Btw those Silver bumper overlays are for someone that is going to use them and not to be sold. Other wise I'd do it my self.

This thread should probably get moved to general tech as big as it has gotten tbh. We are getting all models now

We dont descriminate, feel free to keep posting new ideas here cause most cheap easy fun creative mods are universal. This started as a TJ thing but evolved into a Jeep thing, cause we understand.

You reminded me that I put a locking black steel fuel door on mine. Took like 2 min. Thinking of getting a locking fuel cap too just in case. With gas prices where they are I don't need to have a full tank one day and find an empty the next.
