Love the idea. I have thought about doing it myself but painting them black or yellow to match the interior. How did you bolt it down? Might use them as speaker boxes too.

I made my own flat fender flares total cost around 35$
I love how they turned out and they have a ton of flex room.

Anyone else sick of the aftermarket side mirrors scratching off the paint from your windshield where they mount? These things were like $50 for the pair and as a permanent solution, I can see their merit. With me it's door off, take dog &wife, doors back on. I was switching many times a week and sometimes more than once a day. Solution?

Walmart $6 side mirror mount for a bike. It's bendable, and comes with the Velcro strap to attach to handle bars. Handle bar? Old wooden hammer + saw = mount. Take the wood and trim one end to a point thin enough to insert into the slot where the door mounts. I painted it black and it looks great. Best of all removal or mounting is 2 second job, and no more scratches on the side of my Jeep.

Get these and just take the OEM mirrors off. https://www.google.com/search?q=jeep...w=1126&bih=627

Hehe. Thanks! They are the stock fenders. I used a grinder with a cutting wheel to shape them. Then I made a whole in each fender for the turn signal light, I made those cuts with a dremel. I did use tj flare turn signals.

Just curious, how did you get rid of the sharp edges on the fenders after cutting them?

The grinder I used was one from harbor freight. They sell cut off wheels, and sanding discs. I used a sanding disc to clean up the edges. I already had the fenders painted black. So I just touched them up after cutting, to treat the edges so they don't rust.

I set them where I wanted them, marked it, checked for clearance. drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the ammo can making sure I had room for a large washer and that I would hit the wheel well. put them back in place marked the holes on the wheel well, drilled, and then with the help of my beautiful wife i bolted them down with 2 6mm bolts, large fender washers and nyloc nuts. I made sure to install the bolt up from the wheel well to avoid any interference with the tire.

If I were going to do it I would use a ring bolt hitch, and a very dark color cause it will get very dirty very fast.

Or a method called Coxcombing Its alot easier than the ringbolt hitch and covers more area.

The coxcomb wasn't as comfortable as I was hoping so I undid it about t quater of the way in, and did this method, sticking to my green and tan theme.

coxcomb looks cool but its not for something that you will be touching often, maybe for rollbars. The ringbolt hitch is used on old ships steering wheels, looks good and the decorative part is out of the way. post up some pics when its finished, I love to see how it works out.
