Yep I did it. Used a sharpie to mark my line then my dremel to cut. Two of my fenders are better than the other two but I think it looks good

Thanks man. Funny part is, my dad doesn't let me do much to my Tj without getting it by him first. He woulda thought trimming them was pointless so I didn't tell him. Did it a month ago and he hasn't noticed.

Sounds like a good plan. I've got a friend with a JK running 35s. I woulda too but don't wanna risk hurting my wimpy Dana 30/35 or wear out my break pads. Don't have a job haha

35's will hold up fine a tj without regearing if you go anything higher then you will need to get rid of that dana 30 in the front and regear both axles

?!? uhh, yea... about that statement... Unless you have 4.10s in your axles then a regear is a must if youre going to run 35's. If its an automatic then it has 3.07's and trust me from personal experience that 3.07's and 35's dont mix. I do agree with the last part tho, anything bigger and you are looking at new axles front and rear.

Anyone ever built a homemade hardtop hoist. I have a plan and I'm pretty sure I know how I want to build it but I'm looking some tried ideas. I've diagrammed my 2x4 frame, pulley system and hook system. Anyone tried anything that worked? Would love ideas and pictures.

I made one out of eye hooks in the 2x4 rafters and ratchet straps works great

I'm thinking rectangle from 2x4's with cross beams and metal ends to link every thing. Metal eye holes at each point and one in center linking to a pulley. That pulley using a rope using another pulley for the actual lowering and hoisting which is attached to whatever is my fixed high point. Simple and should cost under $100 easy.

Building on the 23rd or 24th unless I do it this weekend. I'll take pics and let you know if it works lol. So tired of finding someone to help take off and put on the top. Buy a soft top in April and use the hard top in winter only after I get it.
