So I broke my tailgate vent and I needed to make cover. So I took my no parking sign that I took down a couple years ago and cut it to fit. Then I drilled some hole to mount with the holes in the tailgate from the stock tire carrier. Then I mounted a license plate. And ptesto the hole was gone.

Greetings from Greece. 97 TJ. Initially dark blue, hand painted (sprayed) to satin black. Then 2 iron bars to the back top end, 4 "U" connectors and my sedan luggage carrier was tranformed. Disassembly of my sedan bike carrier, re-assembled in an inverted way, 2 longer screws and on the spare. Cargo problem on the way to summer vacation solved.

I took mine off cuz I'm not running a spare right now. There will be holes but just put the screws from the tire mount in the holes. Plugs em up good. The vents only come on newer tj's at least that's what it seems.

Where did you get that square black vent thing on your tail gate??

Anyway, found these 1 1/4" super bright LED marker lights on ebay. I beefed up the rubber grommet with an 1 1/2 rubber tubular brass slip joint washer and pressed them into the trim holes in the rim, then popped the lights in: Solid as a rock! (Just to be sure I hit some really rough and rocky trails yesterday to see if I could shake them loose - they didn't budge!)

I added a couple of waterproof quick disconnects on the back side of the rim so I can easily pop the lights out should I ever need to use the spare.

I originally thought about going with 4 lights, but glad I didn't. These suckers are bright!

Happy Trails!

Got them here: Tuff Stuff Winch | Recon Winches | Tuff Stuff ATV Winch | Jeep Winches

They also have an e-bay store: Chevy Chevrolet GMC, Ford items in e-autogrilles store on eBay!

I bought the winch bumper and a rear tire carrier bumper from them. I called and spoke with the sales rep, because I noticed that many other mfg's offered a package deal if you bought both. He gave me a discount, and it saved a lot in shipping.

First and foremost, AMAZING thread. Took me 4 days to work through this thread, some at work and some at home, just working on it here and there. Now, thanks to all of you guys I have a couple page long list of stuff to do, lol. The first ones I've done so far is removed the "jugs" from the back bumper and painted the parking lights with Satin black spray.

I have several parts waiting to go on the jeep. None of the local shops had torx sets or breaker bars so I am waiting on fedex and usps to get them here. Then I have a new alternator, westin trailblazer bumper, Hella 500FF fogs and some Krylon painted Shackles to go on.

Glad to have found this forum and have the opportunity to use all your knowledge, best jeep resource out there.

When I moved to this town I decided I didnt need a big antenna on the jeep for the radio, because I dont listen to the radio and there are only 2 stations so I put a 13" antenna on from amazon for $6 free shipping

When I bought my Jeep one of the window cranks was laying in the floor. I paid an ungodly amount for the crank screw from Quadratec plus inflated shipping so they could send me their catalog (couldn't find a suitable screw at the local hardware store). I wasn't interested in ordering the spacer from them and decided to make one. I used a pill bottle lid that was about the same diameter. 10 mins with the dremel (took a 4 min phone call in the middle of the process), a little scuffing, then paint and I couldn't be happier.

That's the one I made at the top and the original on the bottom.

Newly fabbed spacer on the funnel, original spacer at the bottom.

X2

Nothing more I hate than going to the car wash and spending $10, the getting home and seeing more mud falling off, and dirty water that trailed all down the side of the rig.

Need to get a pressure washer of my own...

there is a car wash locally that you get 20 + minutes for 5 bucks. It is awesome, never have used all the time to wash.
