Cheers. If you search the threads or google shouldn't be hard to find a pic. Can't remember where I saw it off hand, if I do I'll let you know.

So I was at Gander Mt. today and happened to notice something...

these Kayak handles cost $11

they are pretty much exactly the same as my rugged ridge roll bar grab handles I paid $25+ the only thing missing is a couple tie straps to secure it to the roll bar.

AND.. they have supported holes in the straps that just so happen to be the exact size for the door pulls. (when pulled out it lines up perfectly)

I have a question. Anyone know what/if any modification is needed to mount a 33 inch tire on a tailgate without a tire carrier? I know I'll have to take off the third brake light but anything else?

I wouldn't put a 33" on a stock carrier. That's alot of weight.. JMHO

When I switched to the 35x12.5x15 I mounted my factory wheel on my gate backwards. It fit without any modifications. It was only on there like that for a month or so till I got the tire carrier. But it worked.

What would you suggest I do in the meantime then? I have the fifth tire already and because I'm short on cash an expensive swing away tire carrier is a few months away. Would I be better off just going without a spare for awhile? It's a 33x10.50 so it's a little bit lighter than yours but not much

Another question. I have a hard top with full steel doors, but, my drivers side door is dented pretty badly and has no interior plastic on it. I can't decide if I should buy a new door or if I should buy two half doors and go soft top. Any opinions?

Probably be cheaper to get a new full door I love my soft top but the windows get foggy and scratched and it's a p.I.t.a.

Your fine. There are a lot of us who run 33's on the stock carrier. Its perfectly fine. I run a 33" on it.

Fits like a champ just use PVC pipe cut outs and longer bolts to raise up your third brake

I was actually planning on doing the third brake light in the center of the spare like some people did earlier in this thread. If I do that I don't need to do anything else right?

I've been using kayak handles for a while, love them. You should be able to find them at any sporting goods store.

I got tired of the factory under hood light going out so I put in a spare driving light with an led bulb that I had laying around. I ran the wires into the factory light box and soldred them to the switch so it would come on when you open the hood.

I did....for a total of three days, until a friend of mine rear-ended me on the way back from Lifeguard training. Mangled the stock mount and switched to Olympic Xtreme Duty, and now run a Rampage.
