Hockey pucks. I've never done it, but I've heard about it plenty of times. I think it would work well.

I've heard of this too but don't know anyone that has done it.

I've made my own body lifts before...
Too aluminum pipe, cut to size. Rubber trim on top and bottom. Carpet tape on the body where it touches, filled he inside with rubber tubes around the bolt. Not too shock absorbing.. But it works.

I heard about the hockey puck thing, anyone with experience on this?

How much does this aluminum pipe cost, and where can I get it? the rest seems pretty cheap and easy to come across.

About an inch or so. Just dont want to spend $100 on it if I dont have to. Like maybe something from another vehicle might work?

Find a 2-3 inch body lift someone is taking off and cut the blocks down with a bandsaw. I see used ones (that are too tall in my opinion) for sale fairly reasonably quite often. On the hockey pucks bad idea the rubber will crack and break relatively quickly from what I understand.

I may be pulling the 3" bl out that the previous owner had installed soon. Hopefully this weekend. I'm replacing it with a 1" that I already bought. I plan to trim off a few spacers for stuff like my seats and spare tire bumps, maybe bump stops for the front. I may have enough scrap left for you to cut some 1" spacers.

Let me know what you have left over. Otherwise I found a 3" kit for pretty cheap on CL might just grab that and cut it. If I cut it in half I might be able to sell the other half lol

You might go by a lumber yard and see if you score some scrap trex, its a synthetic wood and pretty tough stuff ( I've used it to make 1" coil spacers). Just cut out what you need with a 2" hole saw.

Yeah I've read that the rubber from the hockey pucks won't withstand the stress especially during a crash

Have down a few very cheap mods. Starting with the old sh*t handles made out of 550 cord and I mounted a old weather proof box in the back with hood latches. Next and probably later on today I'm going to mount a etrack rail in the back and use that to mount my back seat to it.

We must have some very different trails. Because I bed lined my rims black and there's silver showing all over the place from scratching off on rocks and what ever else is in the woods

I would agree...rougher conditions will mess them up...I have repainted them on the rim when touch up is needed, super easy. Love them black so much, I'm gonna bed line them when this wears out/off.

I would imagine tyre width/rim width/tyre brand and model has quite an impact on how it lasts.

Do you have a soft top? If so, how is that overhead storage with the top down?

i do have a soft top and it holds great with the top down. there is to be no laughing at how i did it. (my wife laughed the entire time). first i measured from the roll bar to the lip just before the surface where the top sits. i found some thin sheet metal and cut out a rectangle about 15 inches wide by about 26 inches. sorry i can get better measurements tomorrow. i set the flat piece of metal on the roll bar to the windshield (with the top down). once i had the right length, i took the metal inside to finish. the next part is builder choice. go to a fabric store and pic a fabric that you like. i choose camo.
