I have done cb radios since 1975, and I can tell you from personal knowledge that any antenna will work better the higher it is as long as it is grounded. HOWEVER say you put the antenna on the Right side rear corner of the Jeep ( body, bumper don't matter) your transmit signal is strongest in front of the LEFT front side of the Jeep,
that's why you can see those skip shooters with two 102" steels on their trucks one at each end with the truck pointed in the direction they want to shoot skip, the second antenna on their trucks acts like a type of directional control for the signal, BUT tey MUST be a minimum or 10' apart, which is why you will NEVER see a Jeep shooting skip without jumper cables in the water or a pond

I've seen posts where the stock airbox has been modifed to suck from the cowl and it is a good idea in that the stock box has the lower portion to collect (and drain) any water. You can also Google for using a Buick airbox.

The problem with this is if the cowl floods, it is going directly down the intake.

The problem with this is if the cowl floods, it is going directly down the intake.
What if you extended the tube so it sat high in the cowl, then you would have a few inches of clearance before anything would even consider going in. Then widen the cowl drains, you could theoretically be submerged to the windshield for a decent chunk of time before the water was able to overcome the drain process and fill the cowl enough to get into the intake. As long as your moving there is going to be an air bubble in the cowl (in theory)

Please remount those tow hooks to your frame. As soon as you try to use those they're just gonna rip right of.

Could replace the bumper mounting bolts with longer ones that'd work for the tow hooks

Yeah those tow hooks aren't doing you any good bolted to just the bumper. Did you use grade 8 bolts?

My oldest son is working on a set of those handles for mine, I got store bought ones right now from PEP Boys and we don't think they are any good cause the are made in China. And me being me the only thing I like about China is its a long way from here, so.....since my son makes dog collars, leash's and wrist bands outta para cord, he's gonna try a set on my Jeep and I get to be the Ginnie pig

I just made a circle loop as as wide as i wanted the handles, burned both ends and stuck them together and cobra stiched over it. Then used pieces of string to tie the loops to the bar.

Yea no kidding. Yesterday my friend yelled that then slammed on his brakes on the ice. Almost slid into another jeep.
