Made my own wind shield light mounts. With 2 pieces of metal that I cut and bent. Drilled and tapped my own bolts into the hinge since the torx were seized!! Here's a few pics

When I got the TJ, i couldn't figure out why my dome light and such never came on. Didn't know about the fuse, and prior owner had pulled it. So that fuse is a pain to deal with.

Anyways, if you have time, please let me know what wires you spliced and where, it would really help with my set up. Only difference is where I am mounting my toggle switch. Did you still run that with the fuse in line, or did you bypass it?
Here's what I did
Dome light= red and black wire
Underneath lights=red and black wires

Send all red wires to one side of the toggle switch and all black wires ground them. But don't forget to send a spare wire to fuse number 20 I think it is (it's called crtsy lights or something like that) and tie into the fuse

Here's an easier way. You can buy this or get the parts from radio shack.

I built my own. cost about $4, and took about 10 minutes. Easier?

Just tap into the dome bypass fuse and install a switch right there.

If you cut that bracket down, will it fit in one of the exisiting blank spots in the dash? I have a spot in mine that looks like 3 toggle switches go there, would be a perfect spot for this switch, external lights, and a third item I have yet to decide on.

Wood cover for bed - $50
6x9 speakers in the front bulk head of cover $20 (Craigslist)
150 watt amp mounted to the cover $35 (crappy boss audio amp)
Cooler - $20 (walmart)
Hardware for mounting cooler - $10

Not having to worry about losing your beer on the trail - priceless
Awesome idea might have to steal that

Just bought the 15$ pa off of amazon. Thought it would be a "cheap easy mod" but the stinking thing can't even be heard over the engine. Got the workman loudmouth amp as well and that seems to make it worse -_-

Anyone have recommendations for a PA speaker?

I did the same thing but mounted the switch inside the glove box

Today I replaced the drivers side elastic bungee cord tie downs on my molly gear seat covers with paracord. The bungee cords would stretch and let the cover scrunch up, and it was really annoying, but now thanks to the non elasticity of the paracord, it just looks cleaner. And the od green looks cool on the black cloth.

after reading this thread I mounted my Hi-Lift Jack today, both cheaply and easily

I had a couple of 3" exhaust clamps in the garage but you can get them for $1.99 at most automotive places. I added a couple wing nuts for $0.69, some washers for $0.80, and cut up a belt I found at menards on sale for $2.50 all in all everything I needed for under $8

I used the belt under the clamp to add some strength and to try and protect the roll bar padding as much as possible
(I used both nuts to secure the clamp so it goes: nut | washer | jack | washer | wing nut)

mounted its VERY secure, the washers I used are 1.25" wide so they fit snug inside the Hi-Lift rail, I may get thicker or rubber washers later on. Depending on how these hold up.

It sits just out of sight from the interior of the jeep and about an inch above the range of motion on my tool box, which is pretty much perfect

It also provided a nice flat surface to secure my fire extinguisher to making that easier to get in and out.

Thanks for the idea guys this was about everything I could ask for!

Thats how I planned too mount my hilift as well. It keeps it secure & out off The elements. I really like your tool box behind The seat, looks like it fits perfect. Where did you pick it up from & do you have it secured down at all?

UPS just dropped off my cover and handle isolator

I got the tool box at sears, it really fits like it was made for it. I dont normally secure it down unless im going to be topless or on the trails but I need to think of a good way to. The rubber diamond plate thing on the top and side is just a stick on piece I found at harbor freight, which helped to keep it from fighting with the ammo can.

Wasn't trying to be a jerk...I keep thinking about wiring a cutoff switch, but it's just too easy to keep a fuse and a pair of needle nose around.
