Another question....do most people just do quick disconnects on the front then or both?

Or I should say is there a point to do both/can you even disconnect rears...some pictures just look like rears are flexing alot too....noob question I know.

People only disconnect the front because it helps with stability and articulation. The rest is actually well designed and doesn't limit flex. It actually helps with stability too. If the reatbwas disconnected it would flop all over the place and increase the chance of roll over.

A custom sub box for behind the back seat. Its made of 3/4 plywood I had laying around and then I had a cover plate made out of 1/8 aluminum on our cnc router at work. Painted her all up to look nice. I installed a 8" kicker solo baric ($89 on ebay) which is all I had to pay for. I had a amp laying in my closet so I hooked that up and it sounds great. Doesn't take up to much room and I can still fit a case of beer in the back If I push everything out of the way.

My Jeep trailer although not that cheap ($300 and ALOT of scrap) is all aluminum. Its light weight and pulls great behind the jeep. Has an ax on one side and shovel on the other with custom mounts. Its 4'2"x8'2" on the inside so it hauls plywood almost perfect. Used my stock Jeep wheels and tires that came on the jeep. Could have been cheaper but everything was bought new except the wheels and scrap.

If you can't already tell I like working with aluminum. LOL
wat are you using to hold the tools on and where do you get them from?

yes its a 7/16x3 clevis pin, some trailer clips, and i used the washers that were on the original bolt. no i only did the front, i get enough flex out of the back so no need too.

i didnt have to jack it up just park on level ground to make it easy on you. old bolts may need a little persuasion . also to remove the old bolts you need a t55 star ratchet and a 3/4. oh this is my first jeep also. this forum has helped me out countless times. so no problem

boom stick do you have any more detailed pick of the bumpers you built. Or maybe a detailed blue print. I would love to make a set for myself. It would save me alot of time if i had something to go by. THANKS

I picked up another stock front bumper for real cheap and cut it up and made a stubby out of it. I just sanded it clean then sprayed some Rustolium Truck bed liner paint to coat it. I don't think it came out too bad. Oh and I took a picture of it next to my stock bumper to show the length difference.

New map light done cheap.

I really like map lights usually found on the underside of rear view mirrors. My 98 does not have these. So I got to thinking about a solution. I did see a flashlight with a magnetic mount in a parts catalog but didn't want to spend the $10-15 and wait for shipping.

I was in Walmart tonight and took a trip down their clearance aisle. I found this little contraption for about $5.

It has a magnetic mount as well as an adhesive option. I opted for the magnetic mount. I put it on the underside of the windshield frame. It has a touch on and touch off.

Here are a couple pics of the mounting. also a couple bad pics trying to show the amount of light it puts out.

Overall pretty happy so far.

They are the stock tow hooks. You can probably pick them up from qtec or 4wd. Try googling Jeep Wrangler tow hooks and they should pop up.

Edit: Just did a search for ya and I found em on here. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/tow-hoo...-82202186.html But I'm sure if you shopped around you could probably find em a little cheaper
