Go to any local junk yard find a zj with the v8 in it double check its the v8 model
While your there grab the tie rod it's also a lot stronger then tjs and is bolt on
Remove your front and rear springs by putting the jeep on jack stands unbolt the shocks and let the axel drop lower on one side till you can get the spring out. (Rent a spring compressor from autozone) I used exhaust clamps to compress the spring when putting the front spring on with the 1 in spacer (levels the rake you get from the relocated front springs) after that switch to the rear axel repeat process removing old springs and put your stock front springs on this is where the spring compressor is highly recommended and bam you have a budget lift! Note u can just put zj springs up front and leave the rear springs alone will be level but less lift.
For the jk shock swap the rear shocks just grind the bottom mount 1/8 in on each side till it'll fit in the axel mount the front shocks are tricky though u have to change out the mounts on it I used some all thread some bolts washers and a couple sockets to press out the jk mount the tj mount can just be hammered out. To press in the tj mount I used the weight of the jeep just put the shock with mount pushed onto the bushing as level as I could get it on the jack and slowly jacked it up under my axel till the mount pushed through the bushing then it's bolt on from there. Jk shocks recommended for atleast 2 in lift.
Good luck and keep jeepin
If i already have 2 in lift spring do u think i should be able to just pop in the zj shocks and be on my way cause its my shocks that and causing a problem

I just finished the last two items left in the black/tan Sahara. Now, it's black/red. I removed the console and the sun visors last week and painted them. I also replaced the faded 3 ball with a new 8 ball shifter knob. I just don't have a pic of that yet.

If you had a military themed Jeep, I'd leave them the way they are. It looks too much like aftermarket patchwork with your style. I'd have to paint them. BTW.. The part of the Jeep that I can see.... looks good!

I thought the full size rear doors were a nice touch, though. Don't know how well this would do on a tight trail, though!

Has anyone made rocker panels out of diamond plate sheet metal? I feel like they wouldn't be too hard to make and would save a lot of money

I've seen people here making them but I'm not sure I've seen the end result (installed) yet.

They aren't perfectly the same by any means and they aren't the prettiest things but they are effective, I used them this past weekend on the exact same trail on the exact same rock lol and they held up just fine to the beating, I just need to touch them up with some bedliner

Good call. Black looks better anyway with the red. Plus all those lot numbers on the ammo cans are supposed to be painted over and/or sanded off once the military unit gets done with the ammo.

I have no idea this is an issue, but a guy at work once tried to sell some cans we were trashing anyway on craigslist. A week later an NCIS agent was calling our CO about one of his personnel misappropriating government property. Those lot numbers can be traced back to the unit the ammo was issued to. I guess they were worried about the actual ammo being sold along with the can, even though every round was logged as expended and all the brass turned back in.

However giving the cans away, not selling, and making sure those numbers were not visible when the cans left the gate and there was never any issue.

Long story, I am sorry, but just more red tape you should be wary of.

I like the look on top of the wheel wells. I have a "Fatty" can I need to mount (after I bedline it) sometime soon to lock away my tools. I just don't think it will fit up there.

Plus then I will take away the perch for my dogs. lol

Maybe some door edge molding around the guard would help. Nice job, better than nothing. Laters,
