Where is the second sound bar going? Mirror of the regular one?

Does getting a second key made count as a mod? The dealership wanted to charge me as much as a set of Ace Rock Sliders cost. I found a locksmith who did it for $50 though.

Thought about doing this too. The YJs had the bar in front of the center crossmember while the TJs have it on behind it. Never tried but I think it would work.

I picked up some black engine enamel today at autozone when i got a wiper blade and painted the end of my exhaust. Subtle but I like it. About $6 a can. Also pulled the top radiator hose and gave it a coat cuz it was looking pitiful.

Nice work on the exhaust! Never even thought about that...Just did my pumpkin orange...Now I'll have to get some black to do the pipe...

Quick disconnect sway bay holder

After installing homemade QD, I was tired of using zip ties to hold the sway bar out of the way while on the trail so I made these.

Just position sway bar where you want it and mark and drill a 5/16" hole in frame

5/16 x 2 Ringed pin = $2.42 each
1/4 " large area washer = $0.68 each
5/16" x 7/16" x 1" nylon bushing = $0.34 each

Less than $3.50 each so I made 3 and have a spare.

Total time less than 30 minutes with tire removal to allow room to drill.

Made some mirrors for when my doors are off. Cost $0. I can see the whole world behind me I don't even use my rear view when I have them in.

The second one will go a little farther behind the first or possibly span it across the very back so it points in towands occupants

Yep, Walmart wanted like $59 or $69 to do mine when I bought it last year...simple solution is not to lose it I guess...of course I can only guess what the dealership will charge me if I do lose the one I have.

Tried Walmart. They said they couldn't do it. Ace hardware said they couldn't. Aco hardware tried but their machine couldn't read the program from the chip. I called many locksmiths who either said they couldn't do it or wanted close to $200. Now that I finally have two keys though I can use my jeep to program a third for just the cost of the blank ($18 online or $175 from the dealer)

Not exactly cheap, but i broke a seatbelt and had to order a new one. So now I have OD Green belts. The color didn't cost me any more than i was going to spend anyway and i think it looks pretty awesome.

Only 25 years? my boy yours is a comin...trust me
40 years driving, first 25 with no flats, I felt like the cat that ate the canary, one day went wooding , came out, no holes on the way home I was backing up, and the trailer bounced into the tire and shredded it

Love the G though. I recommend at minimum a flat repair kit under the sat

how did you do that? I'd like to use a pool ball as the shift knob but how do you remove the stock one and then how do you put the pool ball on?

Today I fixed the backup camera that I installed last year(loose wire). I also mounted a mirror on my trailer so when I am backing up to hook up the trailer I can see the tongue and my hitch ball in the mirror in my backup camera

Set up an ammo can for storage, grate for all the random recover stuff and a little first aid kit. Used 2 bolts and a small plate of metal to create bracket to tighten it to the lip on the jeep body.

Bikini Top

I was wanting a Bikini top for the summer and started looking around at what I had for suitable top material. I found the black boot cover that the factory soft top came in. This is the bag that the owners manual says to discard. Glad it was still around.

I went to HF and bought a brass grommet kit for $4 and 12 ball stretch cords for $6.

I added a number of grommets to the bag. Next measured the width needed, then rolled up and tied off both ends of the bag to get the correct width for the top.

I still have my hardtop on but I did a test fit anyway. I only used a few of the stretch cords but it seems to work! I have plenty of grommets and stretch cords so the flapping should be kept to a minimum.

Sorry I have nothing to add but I seen ball stretch cords and had to laugh. Great idea though. It looks like it will work good.
