We have two fur-kids, and we like to take them with us whenever we can. However, they are big and the back of the TJ is small. I removed the back set, but that left a bunch of anchor points and the seat belts that could be dangerous for the dogs. I also still wanted to have the option of putting the seat back in. I came up with what I think is a unique and cheap (under $40) solution. I made a two-piece carpeted platform that is also removable. It gives them a flat, steady base that they can get traction on while at the same time allowing me to convert back to a stock backseat in a few minutes. It locks in by the supports that are space in front of and behind the anchor points of the seat belts and a few others to prevent any forward or backward movement when braking or accelerating.

Did almost the same with mine. What I did to my TJ today - Page 192 - Jeep Wrangler Forum

I haven't been able to take my jeep wheeling as often as I would like. But I went out a few weeks ago and broke the crap out of it. Snapped both rear control arm brackets, broke pinion seals, busted my hard break lines, tweaked my my left drum brake and caused those to leak, and snapped my rear yoke coming off the diff. And snapped two winch cables trying to get me out. Good news my drive shaft was salvageable, better news my insurance is covering it and 4wheelparts is doing the work. I figured I would upgrade the cheap while its apart. So I'm putting in a rear trilink suspension front Aussie locker, rear ox locker, and getting a synthetic rope for the winch. I might get some steel tube fenders while I'm at it. Beside that I am really glad to see this thread still going strong.
What insurance company covered that?

Just awesome

For the past week I have been reading the pages and pages of this thread and really love it. I am only sad that I did not stumble on this forum years ago. I was so inspired over the weekend that I got out a can of paint and did some accent work. Thanks to all for sharing such clever and utilitarian ideas.

I would like to know how you guys keep the paint from being tacky. I did my center console and it's still tacky, a month an a half later. Advice!

Does it have a clear coat on it? If not that's what I would do to prevent the tackiness. If you painted it with a cheaper paint it will sometimes come out tacky, so I just put a coat of rustoleum clear coat and came out great and protects it from fading/ scratches.

If you don't apply the paint in thin layers, it will turn tacky when it dries. If after you've clear coated and still have the problem I suggest removing the paint with duplicolor grease and wax remover or something similar, and trying again but with caution to how much you spray on each coat.

I got the idea from an earlier post on this thread.
1. Gutter guard material
2. Blue spray paint
3. Bag of zip tie clips
4. Bag of zip ties
5. Tube of JB weld epoxy
All from Menards and less than $30
I'd put instructions on here but someone has already done an excellent pictorial demo in this thread.

Smile Duplicolor bedarmor fender flares

it's been done before but....
22 bucks for two cans
80 grit sandpaper

the first time we didn't sand it and it peeled with the tape. hearing my father say "do it right the first time" a million times in high school obviously didn't sticki
so i pulled them all off and hung them in the garage
the bedarmor has the feel of sand paper
pulled off the overhead speaker boxes did those too
nice look nice feel and pretty cheap
