Buy the led cat eyes off amazon, they bolt into your fenders and are about the size of a quarter. They are waterproof and very durable. I put one in each of my fenders.

I paid $5 for 2 eagle eye led lights from eBay that bolt into my fender, wire comes through the bolt so the wire is no where near able to get wet (i have gotten mine wet and it works fine

2x 3-inch hose clamps and a kitchen fire extinguisher. Hasn't moved since I put it there. Works a lot better with the rear roll cage padding removed.

An idea from this forum. Maglite D-cell clamps and 2D-cell LED flashlight, fits perfectly next to the driver's seat.

Nice thread.

Does anybody have ideas for cheap alternatives to hood bumper stops?

When I had my TJ painted a few years ago I only had one of the bumpers. Never replaced, just left with the two holes. I'm not looking for rubber bumpers necessarily, but something different and cheaper than near $50 for the billet style.

That's okay, but a bit more showy. I was just thinking maybe some rubber would be okay. Say a large grommet with a chrome hex screw going through it. My only concern is the rubber bleeding/streaking onto the paint and looking like crap.

You should mount some heavy duty windshield washer sprayers in those holes. Ones that actually work, not like the stock ones.

TJZ, makes sense, but I don't even use the factory ones that often.

I was thinking something along the looks of the image below,. This is all aluminum including the black. I want that to be rubber. This would tie in great with the look of my Smittybilt fenders which use the same chrome hex screws.

Get a coated rubber, like the factory stops, and you can do it

I needed a way of powering a 4.5 amp plugin cooler, so I added a 12v socket to the back of my center console. It's wired into the fuse box with a fuse tap. The wires go behind the dash and under the console, so are completely out of site. In the center console the white part is actually a separate piece from the console itself. so I fed the wire in between, not straight down to the bottom. This will keep me from accidentally grabbing it when reaching in, for something, while driving.

I'm considering attaching/siliconing a small cover, maybe a plastic electrical box over the back side of the socket for further protection.

Works great. Cheap and now convenient.

Socket $9, Napa fuse tap $7. Had fostner bit, shrink tubing, wire and connectors already on hand.

I put a similiar marine plug in the passenger side rear by the tailgate. I use it for my electric fillet knife after we go fishing or to blow up the air mattress when camping. Jeep should have put an extra waterproof plug somewhere in the back from the factory.

Put in my custom "no-stereo-stereo".

Put in a 4ch Pyle marine amp in the socket where the stereo was, and wired that directly to speakers.

Use mini jack input to connect to my iPhone for tunes...

Now, nothing to steal and everything's all self contained...super simple!!

plasti dip'd my 2002 Wrangler.

This was my first experience using the plasti dip. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I also put on the bug shield. Next will be my winter wheels (Centerlines). I also put a youtube video up of the final result but its too big for this page.
