CB Antenna Run to spare tire

I ran my antenna wire out through tailgate instead of through the top.
What you do is take off the black plastic cover down where the taillight electric contacts are, then run the wire up through the taillight mount, and to the antenna.

Much cleaner that way!

1" body lift with hockey pucks:
Did a lot of research on this one and guys have been doing thus for years. Don't stack them and you'll be fine. Use at least grade 5 hardware but grade 8 is better and not much more dough. There are two different size bolts you'll need. Pop one on the passenger or driver side and one on the rear near the bumper and you've got your size tread count and dimensions. Or just search really good and find it here. In total there are 9 body mounts. Follow the directions others have provided here. MAKE SURE YOU RELEASE THE FAN SHROUD AND FAS FILLER TUBE TO AVOID DAMAGE BEFORE JACKING THE VEHICLE.

Tinted lenses:
You'll want to get the tint from an auto parts store. Clean thourouly the area to be tinted. I did not scuff the surface and it worked out great. SEVERAL light coats and you'll get your desired effect on the lenses. I went a little too dark on mine so you may want to stop before you think your there. I sprayed the tail lights on the jeep and taped off but took the turn signals out.

Replace stereo system:
I used polk audio marine certified speakers in my dash and roll bar. I didn't know you could up the size of the roll bar before I did this so I have the smaller ones. They still sound better than stock but I'm sure that the larger ones have better bass response. The hardest part was stereo installation. Just follow the directions and you'll be fine.

Painted Roll bar padding:
I removed the roll bar with two hex bolts and started spraying. No more purple and the dirt cleans off a little better as the material is not as pourous.

Cb radio install:

Seems much more confusing than it really is if you research it. Just run your power source ground and mount that puppy up in any location you'd like. I mounted my antenna on the spare tire carrier and routed the wire through the window in the back. You should probably get a 15' coaxle cable instead of a 20 as u did. I'll have to get it trimmed and hooked back up as you don't want loops in the cable stuffed under te carpet or wherever. This will not allow peak performance.

Used bumper:
I got a used OLD smittybuilt tube bumper that is heavy an solid. I'm thinking it is before they sold to china because of the shear weight of the thing. Was like 60 bucks and I took it! Craigslist is your friend.

License plate:
EAT DRT ......enough said

Sway bar disconnects:
Surprisingly easy to install. Follow the directions and you'll be good. Also get a tape measure and measure the length of the adjustable end and you'll get it exact on both sides. Overboard? Maybe but I like to be precise. The angle also matters as stated in the instructions to retain proper geometry. Don't worry get an app on your phone that has an angle finder and rest the phone on the link. Easy as pie.

Saggy spring replacement:
With the jeep I also got some springs I knew nothing about. I researched them and they are the stiffest springs available for the tj usually found with a hardtop from the factory to compensate for this. I figured what the hey let's do it. It raised my jeep back up an 1" and was worth the efforts IMO. For the record these had the tags on them(newer) and mine had 100k miles on them.

Fake rockers!
Came with the jeep and I threw em on! They look good although no teal rocker protection is present.

Carpet removal:
Carpet after the last mudhole and windows down was garbage. Too bad it was replaced by the PO. Took out the seats front and rear and center console to get this out. Trashed it with an ich of sloppy MUd all over it and ripped from my frustration. Lining the floor will be next when I get the bug.

Roll bar padding removal:
Be carefully with this becuase slot of people say their bars aren't painted. Mine is a 97 sport and they were. I carefully unziped a portion of the padding to ensure the bars were painted so I could zip them back up if not. They were so instead of taking seat belts and stuff off I got a knife and pulled and cut it off. I was between painting and removing and decided paintin lg them would be too much work. If I wanted roll bars in the furue I would buy some replacements. WELL A HEAD SHOT TO THE ROLL BAR SUCKS! My wife and I can both tell you. Keep the padding if you actually off road. Or wear a helmet! Ha

Daystar dash thing:
They are cheap and effective. My stuff stays put and it takes two inconspicuous screws to attach it. Worth the 40 or so bucks if my memory is correct.

Man there is probably more but I'm sick of writing. Hope somebody gets some ideas from this post!

Do your grill in black. I did that on my silver TJ and I love it.

I've been really debating that. What did you use? And did you remove the grill or no?

Installed a Ford Explorer roof rack on the hard top.
$25 for the rack out of the junk yard.
1 can of paint- $5
Misc. hardware and flat steel for the under side-$25

I also painted the under side of the top black for about $15.

Great job on the roof rack, it's a match that's for sure. What grille insert did you go with? I think it really finishes the front. Close up photo if you get a chance of that grille. Definitely nice looking Rubicon.

That looks good. How weird is it that drilling or adding anything to my hardtop is the only thing that freaks me out about modifying my Jeep!

Thanks. The grill inserts are home made from gutter guard that was cut to fit and zip tied to the chrome insert.

Not hard at all. Comes with a template and great step by step instructions.

The best thing to do once you get the template on and lined up, is not to think it, just do it!

I only got nervous when my wife said if I screw it up, I wasn't getting another hood!
