Rock Lights on Door Switch

I put in a relay to get my rock lights to come on when I open the door. Nice to be able to see the ground while getting in and out at night.

Yes, I put a rocker switch on the console by the passenger air bag switch.

"What kind or rock lights do you have"

Here's a post I did on them.

Cheap, Easy, Fun CREATIVE MODS

I have six 3 watt Eagle Eye type lights. I have had them in for a few months and they are holding up well. Definitely waterproof. I just order a couple 9 watt Eagle Eye and will put those under the back bumper.

Does the spray on bedliner fade on the fender flares or bumpers? Just wondering.

I recently did my rock sliders. Color is still there but the texture is completely gone after 1 trip wheeling. However the parts that we didn't step on are completely find.

I built a front and rear bumper for my 2001 Tj. It cost me a total of about $30 in grinding wheels (got the steel for free) the primer was another $50 and they are off to get bedlined tomorrow for another $150. Total is about $230 for both bumpers.

Is there a ft or yard range on these lights? Just a rough estimate.

The way I have them mounted, I now have three on each side and they just shine mostly down under the Jeep and go out about 4 to 6 feet. The 3 watt LED lights are not bright enough to use as a driving light. Probably only good for about 30' or 40'.

I did rocker panel stripes and my bumpers on the outside, and whole inside tub with raptor liner. It hasn't met any rocks since i did it but texture is holding up fine with daily driving and color hasn't faded yet. Going on about 6 months now.

If you use it though, it seems to look like it's a thicker coat than it actually is while applying. So when it looks like your good on coverage, throw another coat down just to be sure. I ended up with some "bald" spots on mine, color coated well, but not much texture in some spots because i didn't spray enough coats.

Free tow hooks that are very solid off of a ford excursion bolt right up to front bolt holes.

I bought a pair based on this thread and installed them as reverse/rear work lights to compliment my LED brake lights. Very impressed with the quality and light output for $18!

Definitely considering getting two more pairs to make wheel lights for night wheeling.
