Looks like the ones pictured above are mounted on the windshield frame.... that's a soft top in the first pic.

Really? The first picture looks like they are installed into the windshield frame. If you did a a close to flush LED, I don't see why you would have any problems.

You're correct those pictures were on the windsield frame. The original poster for clearance lights were on the hardtop thats why I said hardtop. If I were to do them on the windsield frame I would want them as flush as possible and blend in with the frame during daytime, thats what I mean by low profile. Also im not a fan of drilling holes in the windshield frame, Id use some industrial 2 side tape.

I think we all would like some close up pictures of how you installed the lights up top. Also how you did the wiring.

Remove plastic console .. then remove three screws from 4x4 cover plate.
this gives you access to the shifter cotter pin. pull the lever into 4w Low then remove cotter pin, and tension spring. then simply slip the shifter out.
Now the hardest part is getting the 4wd plastic handle off the rod. use a razor knife and chop and cut it off. Then heat up the rod and bend the top part strait
. once that is done you need to be able to weld. I got a 6 inch bolt of the same with , cut off the head and had it welded to shifter. Then the only thing you have to buy is the knob which is your choice. Mine cost about $20 but some can be as low as 6. I wanted mine to match the gear shifter. Now to make both of my shifters look fatter i took heater hose and placed it over both sticks then taped them with electrical tape, Put the shifter back in hook up spring, put in cotter pin reinstall guide (gate) plate then install console again. It works great and I wonder why the factory didnt come this way

It's a Gentex 177 out of a suburban. I'm gonna go back for one with dual display (comp and temp at same time) and map lights. Wiring was a switched 12v (I tapped into the cig lighter), and two wires to a temp sensor you can find on the grill in front of the rad. Mounted and screwed right into the stock mirror peg. I LOVE it. Auto dim is amazing, works perfect. No more pesky flipping tab mirror. It brightens in daylight and when there are no headlights behind you, but the second headlights are behind you it dims to a comfortable darkness. Paid $6 for it. Took me all of 30 minutes. Best mod so far

Dual ones are the same. Just has two lines on it one for temp one for compass. No extra wiring. Suburbans, tahoes, yukons, some 1500s. Any full size GM will have it. Some luxury domestics too like crown Vic's and whatnot will all have them.

Oh and to ID the dual ones take a flashlight to the little display. You'll see the layout whether it's a single line or if there are two

Single will look like this |88|

Dual will be like this:
|88|
| 88|

Roll Bar Interior Lights

Added a couple LED lights to the roll bar for interior lighting. Wired it into the dome light circuit.

Wow that an awesome deal! I am going to do this as well. Did you get the mirror off a salvage yard?

Yup. $5 just make sure to grab a small amount of the wiring to create a harness and splice into

Where did you pick them up at? I replaced both lights in my pods with some LEDs but was wanting a little more light in the tailgate area.

Actually, I shouldn't say that. It will be fine as long as you are ok with touching it up all the time. It scrapes off easily. You should use paint or Bedliner if you want to do it once and be done. Just my .02

Yea I think I'll see how it looks and if I like it, get it line-Xed. I prefer the smoother texture.
