I like to do cheap easy fun things to my tj, I have seen alot out there, but lets put all of our ideas on one thread. We all know about supension, regearing and all of that stuff, but what about the little things, that are just creative. Like cb radio mounts, anything custome. I will start off with what I have done, no available pictures but I will get some up ASAP. Well i mounted my cb behind the center console, I also made custom "oh sh*t" grab handles from 550 cord. I also put a cb speaker in place of my ash tray. I plan on doing some work with ammo cans, I know alot of you guys are CREATIVE so lets see what you guys have done.

Replaceable bulb instead of whole housing and an improved light beam pattern
And you can keep back up light bulbs in your glove box.

while i was looking for a ammo can in the antique store i found this army bag from 1946. i didnt find an ammo can but i figured this would make a good tool bag, i already added my army issue flashlight. i think if i find another ammo can i might use this bag as a medic kit

i think im goin to just make it into a medic bag. mainly for the fact that tools get dirty and that bag is really in good shape. id feel bad about ruining this bag i dont care about an ammo can so much

Yea the kits have everything you need if you dont mind spending the 40 bucks, i dont mind the 40 bucks, but my local offroad store didnt have them in stock and i didnt feel like waiting. soo i went to a local bike shop, got everything i need for 11 bucks, and there it is...hand throttle.

I'm planning on blacking out some things around my jeep
and i'll probably use rustoleum, would the normal enamel spraypaint be good enough or would the bedliner be better?
Rattle-can Rustoleum bedliner is tough as nails. I have it on my bumpers, sliders, and door handles and it has not worn at all. Surprisingly, it washes off easy which was one of the things I was worried about when I first put it on my bumpers.

for bumpers and sliders I recoated 4x about 15-20 minutes between coats with the Rustoleum and it turned out well. For everything else I stopped at 2 coats. I waited about 2 hours before handling after the last coat. I wouldn't want to use it on the tub. It's not as thick as the sprayon/rollon kits for that application and as stated above and it is rough like sandpaper.

I made my light bar out of some square aluminum I got from work the lights I got from Walmart for 7bucks each so 42bucks all together including the to on the bumper
Homemade bike rack made at work for free
Front & rear recovery hooks 8bucks each at fleet farm
So 74bucks total! Not to bad :)

Hey there, nice mods...just want to give you a word of caution...while off roading and such, having your rear hooks faced down & forward like that could cause you to catch up on something. :thumb:
