These don't compare to mostly everything I've seen in this thread but I like that I did them.

Frank

- I wanted a console for my '02 but didn't care for the tiny storage space you get with '02 and later consoles so I took the one from my '00 (of happy memory). It didn't fit because the '00 had one cup holder on the floor and the '02 has two. So I used an oscillating saw to cut back the little tray in the front of the '00 console. I did the cut in a semi-circle shape so that the console mates up to the 2nd cup holder reasonably well and it fits nicely and gives plenty of storage space.

- Wanting an extra power outlet, I drilled a hole in the front of the '00 console and added a cigarette lighter adapter - cheap from Radio Shack. I ran both the power lead and a stereo audio cable in a wire shield to under the dash. I connected the power lead to the original cigarette lighter and ran the audio cable to the aux-in in my replacement radio. The extra power outlet is convenient - especially with an iPhone holder with an audio out jack ($80 from Radio Shack a couple of years ago) that connects into the cigarette lighter. Some velcro (tm) helps keep the iPhone holder in place.

- Since I'm often working on the Jeep with the driver door open and the radio on, I figured it'd be convenient if the radio power were on -- as well as that extra cigarette lighter adapter I added above -- without the "door open / key in" chime constantly ringing. Since more often it's a pain to have them connected to constant power, I added a rocker switch next to the original cig lighter to switch the radio and extra power outlet between "key on / accessory" power and "constant power."

Not unless you swap the whole air box the sliders are for cable drive blend doors the knobs are for vacuum solenoids and I'm not sure if that swap is possible I wish my 99 had the sliders actually I wish I had a 97 auto instead of my 5spd 99

I'm not sure the gist of this on how to keep it "in"? I have a 2012 JK and got a grill insert(s), basically a panel grid and its held by two spring steel bars running top to bottom that hold it in place by pressure and tension. Granted I have only 3K miles on it but I live on a dirt road, and usually take the back way to town which is 12 miles of dirt road before I hit the Hwy for the remaining 12 to town, 24 in all. Lots of vibration and it hasn't budged at all. I can't speak of mounting the inserts from the front, just my back panel mesh which does great.

dude dont listen to anyone that tells you ANY led website like superbrightleds.com. their all ever priced. buy them off ebay i did all the interior lights on my 2000 blazer to leds, the floor lights X2, the "Map lights" X2, the light above the rear seat X1 and the one in the very back X1. with shipping i paid about $20. those led websites your lookin at $20 for 2 led bulbs with shipping while i got 6 led bulbs for $20 with shipping. and their the EXACT same thing!

Example: superbrightleds.com sells this bulb for $12.95 while ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-T10-19...#ht_3602wt_841

Ditto, purchase them e-bay. It's worth the two week wait on the delivery.

Thanks! I should have looked at eBay when I got mine. I was going off of an old thread on JF when I converted mine.

Just spent a few days reading all of the entries. Some increadible stuff and more than a few i am going to do myself.

Took the milk-jugs off.
Switched the Sun visors so i am not looking at Warnings of worst case scenerios.
To do:
I'm half-way through fashioning a cool cane handle I have into a new gear shift knob.
Will bedline-spray: flares, sidemirrors, handles and bumpers (figure it will take years off the age of the jeep, at least in looks)
Thinking about altering fog lights and 3rd breaklight with some design Im still up in the air about.
This is such a helpful site and this is a simply great thread.

A question: The small flare just behind the front tire and under the Jeep and sport logos. My drivers side one broke after someone kicked it when frozen, would it be better to replace it or just take it off on both sides and if i take it off how do you fill the holes?

Thanks

The best way to fill those holes is with rock sliders. That's not the cheap way. The cheap way would be with a decal sticker.

This isnt as cheap as a sticker but looks better.
