I dont like airbags offroad. I pulled both bags and I'm installing a grant wheel. I was left with a big hole on the passenger dash. Built this up real quick. Probably could have done better but it was at work and the phones were ringing nonstop. I still need to finish the trim plate on the top so it sits flush and make a trim plate for the left side.

I like it, must be nice to be able to remove the airbag, here i Va if one is missing they fail you until a service center repairs it.

Times like this I miss being in Arkansas.

I guess I was lucky and had the year with the turn off switch on the passenger side. If the bags deploy, at least I only need to replace the one and not two. I've slammed pretty hard offroad before and it's never gone off. The thought was in my mind though.

Awesome. I hate airbags too. Curious. What about inspection and airbag lights

light goes off when the fuses are pulled, no inspection in Arkansas so I dont have to worry about that.

When off roading can't you just pull the fuses to the bags? Then reinstall when you get back on the road?

Yes, you can, but I had a few reasons. 1, I'm 6'2' 320 pounds so even with the seat back I'm quite close to the wheel. 2. every now and then, my 2 year rides in his carseat up front. 3, it will soon be a dedicated trail rig and wont need them anyway. 4, except for my dodge and the van, all of my trucks and cars are from the 70's and 80's, none of them have airbags and they are just fine.

I did a little rope wrap on my 'Oh Sh*t' bar, the shifter handle and the door handles. Found the rope at Walmart for about $4.00 for a 100' length.

Okay...I thought so. I wasn't actually questioning why you removed them...just wasn't sure if removing fuses was an option. Now I know.

And I can understand why you did what you did...

Thanks

Yes, fuses are a good option, they have two dedicated fuses in the box marked airbags. I pulled mine and never put them back in. Hence the reason I decided the space in the dash could be more useful. Not that it needs it, you know, with the wranglers MASSIVE amount of storage room...

Idk what year yours is. But when I pull the two airbag fuses my airbag light stays on. As the computer thinks there's an error.

Mine is a 98 model, my light does not come on when the fuses are pulled. My clockspring went bad the airbag light came on, I pulled the fuses and the light went off.

nope still have the cigarette lighter, I just wanted a USB specific port to be iPod friendly. I also ran it straight to a positive source so I could charge my phone, iPod, or whatever even with the Jeep off. nice for camping.

man looking at these pics... Its time to vacuum...

Do you have a factory radio? I'd really like an aux to plug my ipod into.

i would die without an AUX port. i never use CD's or the radio. what i really want is a complete blank center dash, with just one AUX port right in the middle. simple, all i need, and it was look hilarious.
