I know the door striker works great on a TJ but I do a lot of tailgating (Buffett shows etc)
and was thinking one might be cool.
I'd most likely put it on the inside of the tailgate because I usually have it open anyway with our chairs right there.
I'm not sure how good it would look on the outside anyway.

Also someone used one from an explorer. They got the roof rack from the junk yard and drilled it into the hardtop.

That would be me. I used a 94 blazer roof rack. I think there rated for like 200lbs or something like that.

If I mount a bottle opener on the Jeep, I think I'll cut out a piece of metal to go behind it. Maybe diamond plate since I have sheet of it.
Or....I have one of these and am toying with the idea of just using it. I'm just not sure I want writing on it though.

It all depends. If your going to mount it on the body then yeah I'd support it. Don't wanna kink your body up. But the bumper is pretty solid. No problems there yet and it's been like 6-7 months

Yeah I know and I've used them many times. Since I got one on both sides, then one more in the back where I do my tailgating won't hurt.

I realize there are already a couple of openers on my Jeep but now I've got one in the back on my tailgate.
I used 2 screws that came from somewhere on my Jeep.
I swear I'm getting more redneck every day..lol.

It's the best I could cut with my crappy old jigsaw..
Maybe I'll cut it better or file it at some point...maybe not...

Thanks. I was gonna use the Official Tailgater one from a few posts up but I cracked the plate getting the opener off of it. Luckily I had some diamond plate lying around. I just broke it in with a Blue Moon.

Hey, I like that look. There's something about a diamond plate as a background...

i did this with the diamond plate and it turned out really well. looks better with the paint and hurculiner imo but someone could do just the plates. the sheet cost like 40$ and i also used that same sheet to do the cover where the shifter is. its aluminum diamond plate

i think he said it was from a modified 90's s10 blazer, but on one of the other pages there was a guy who built a rack that folded back and then onto the top of the jeep and he had 2 kayaks mounted on it
