So I kept a fuse puller handy and removed/replaced the fuse as a switch for when I had the doors off. Which led me to my idea...

I decided to wire up a switch through the fuse block to control the door jamb switches. All I had to do was use blade style quick disconnects to plug into where the fuse would normally go and wired a switch and a fusable link in-line.

WHY DIDN'T THEY DO THIS AT THE FACTORY? Check it out in the pics attached. Oh and I've got the wires tucked in better since I took the pics.
LOL they make kits already that do this. There's been a lot of talk recently about this. I'll be making my own soon.

New color scheme for the hi-lift. It was starting to show some rust in a few places on the main shaft and I didnt like how it looked. Got some yellow rust enamel and bedliner and went to town.

My brother and just cut the yellow (I think) wire on each side that goes to the door switch. We then ran those to a switch, splicing both sides so that the current to the door switch can be interrupted with the switch. I did this because I got tired of my trip counter would clear when I interrupted the fuse link.

I got it from the same place I got the hi lift from. It's a neoprene cover. It will fade fast and turn to purple, actually I just got done "dying" back to black.

It wouldn't look bad, I wouldn't do a high gloss black. Maybe a satin or semi gloss?

That would look good, and if you didn't like it you could always paint them green later

Thanks for the compliment! I think Im nearly done with the "looks" portion of the build, now its on to the performance area. This will likely get a frown from the wife lol

I am kinda on the fence about this also. While I think that flat black doors would look ok, I also feel that same color doors would look better. Just an opinion, but maybe if you can find some same color doors and then use plasti-dip to paint them, if you dont like it flat black then you can just peel it off.
