I'd leave the door green. And buy the spice uppers. No need to paint anything.

I like that color combo...curious why you would want half doors though?

Old guy, new to the form still gota go the Intro. page but after reading the last 80 pages here I have 9 pages of notes and a file full of photo's for creative ideas, must say it has been a pleasurable 3 hours. Had a couple of CJ's in the early 80's, moved to Harleys since then but now back to Jeeps, got a stock 07 Wranlger coming tomorrow so I'll be back asking more questions once I forget what most of the photo's I got filed away means so go easy on the old guy from the GulfCoast.

Why not? I want the lower cloth half doors for mine.

You don't always want to be completely door-less, but you don't want full doors either.

I'd like some half doors as well. For summer when I don't want my full doors but want some sort of door there. They may be easy and fun but they definitely aren't cheap

The half cloth ones are a pita to use you have to slam them to shut them and they dont keep rain out even if you have the uppers on. Just a heads up.

Not really too worried about them keeping rain out myself. I just want the bottoms any way.
The girlfriend doesn't like completely doorless. Soft bottoms would be easy and quick to put on and make her happy. Plus, if I had soft door bottoms I could use them and a trail cover at night when I am enjoying the topless season. It would be just enough to keep the neighborhood cats out during the night. lol

Ahh I see. Just wanted people to know how dissapointed I was with mine. Its sad that I would rather have explosive diarreah than soft doors again lol. Maybe the tube doors might suit me better or just half doors. But for now I will stay doorless and thank the gods that my wife and kids love it.

To be honest I just like the half doors way more, the looks, they at lighter, and more rustic. Full doors feel like a cage to me ha ha what's cool is Jeep still offers them as an option for the rubi JK and JKU which if I ever got one I would get them. And to me better visibility off road with out the uppers. The reason I want to paint them black is is the guy I might trade has red ones with tan uppers ,I don't want to pay a shop to paint them and I thought black would look cool since my grill and cowl are flat black. But with a tan uppers and soft top.

If thats the case then do it! I might still use plasti-dip to see how it looks first, then decide if its the look you want. If it is then either leave the plastidip till it starts to wear off or just peel it and paint them either way. But I say go for it! I like half doors better than full doors anyways for about the same reasons you do.

Plasti-dip a rubber coating that is usually applied to tool handles and things like that. It also comes in a spray can and alot of people have used it in many different places on their rigs. If you search plasti dip you will find a million posts of people even doing their entire Jeep with it. But the good and bad part is that it is removable. So if you dont like how it looks then peel it off, but if you do like it then I recommend to put many many many HEAVY coats on so it doesnt peel off with normal use. Over all good stuff imo.

here is a link to the product page

So what did you do with your half doors? Shipping them from you to me shouldn't be too high. lol

I think it was said a long time ago in this thread that somebody had no benefit from it and they got plenty of flex with them attached.

Don't know if it has been said yet but if anyone is looking for a cheap rock light at the under side of there rig the auto Zone or checker neons work very well for this. They run about 20$ and give off enough light to do the job I will try to post pics. They work great in the engine bay too.

Can this stuff be sprayed on plastic? (Dash, door panels, etc.) I have "spice" interior now, would like black.
