45-55 tends to be the sweet spot for me.

55 is my optimum. But i was on a 75mph road so that would get me creamed.

Yeah about 55 in my sweet spot also. Mine is a DD and I drive 30 miles one way to work and 90% of the roads are 60 plus. I get horrible gas mileage. Lol

The owner before me set it up as a play toy n put a spool rear end in it I replaced it with an arb unit and I can actually get the thing to 60 without it killing my fuel mileage the spool put to much stress on things I've gained 2mpg since getting it out

lol, yeah, it did drink a lot of gas, but we were on our way to a restaurant with the family for easter lunch. It was about 2pm, I hadn't had anything to eat all day and my sister was driving the other vehicle...

The reason she called me was because she was behind me in her truck, her son was in the back seat of my Jeep and he was apparently trying to lean over the side of the rail to see the wheel...

He is so much like his uncle.

Yeah, me too. I think that's why I like the doors off. lol

But he is a bit too small to be doing that.

It was his first time riding in the Jeep though.... so I can't really blame him.

In the next month or so I will be doing a snow camo job on my jeep since it is mostly white and black already. Will post something up here when done. Wanted to thank the guys that did the interior painting, i will be doing snow camo on the inside as well in the center counsel and the panels around the speakers, glove box and under the steering wheel.

It weird. When I drive to San Antonio, I get 13 mpg doing 70. When I drive back home I average 16 mpg on the same road at 70. I think it is because I go up more hills on the way to SA and get to go down them on the way way back to Del Rio.

Cleaned the ole girl up after painting the interior this weekend. Hard to see the interior with it being a little in the shade.

Flat head screw driver to lift the crank up a little then take needle nose pliers with a Allen wrench and push the clip off and they will slide off

i got off now, ended up using a allen wrench n what not. but ill prob buy the tool next time, i got another question for ya guys. my lock on my passenger side stays locked at all times, only way i can get the door open is if i hold it unlocked either from inside or with the key and pull the handle at the same time. any fix to this, i just got tired of it and took the doors off.

You'd have to take the panel off and check out the linkage somethings busted.

Speaking of this! I went on a 80mi highway drive yesterday for Easter. Going out I got 8.4mpg coming back I got 17.7mpg. On the exact same route. But opposite directions

Did a 235 mile trip one way. Going there I had to fill up when i left and when i got there. Coming back i filled up when i left and about 50 outside of town. More down hill in one direction im guessing. Im guessing they got rid of the up hill in both ways like they had back in the day. lol

If anything is broken it can be fixed with zip ties. There are a few metal rods that are involved with the locking mechanism, they are held together by plastic clips.

You can buy a replacement or just rig it up to work. Its called a "door lock rod clip"
