cheap JVC back to OEM?

I would like to put back in a factoy am/fm/cd player in my 2002 jeep but I am not sure if there is any issues that I have to deal with such as codes, of the factory radio. I would buy from someone like Ebay or any other outlets on line. Can anyone give me any advice I dont want to buy one and the pay a dealership for there time it would cost more then the used radio.

The wiring harness is the only thing you'll need to aware of and it's super easy to check by just removing the front panel (pull up the long vent strip along the windshield and remove the 2 screws up top, removed the ash tray and remove the screw under there and just pull the panel straight towards you) and unscrewing and pulling out the radio. If it's a big ball of electrical tape there will be splicing involved but if they spent 5 bucks and got the wiring harness adaptor you'll just need to unplug the old one and install the one for the factory radio. No codes as the radio is not tied to anything (the odometer is where the diagnostic screens are located).

But I am curious why you'd want to revert back to a factory deck. The sound isn't very good and for about $100 you can buy a really nice stereo with USB & aux inputs.

Darn, just sold my stock one a few weeks ago. Google "daveysjeeps" they have stock head units, but pretty expensive.... I got an aftermarket and love it. No more clipping with bass, no distortion, and I can plug iPod/my phone into it
