cheap things to do

I have a 2002 tj that i im obsessed with. I lov working on it almost as much as driving it. I was wondering what some cheap projects i could do to work on it, i already changed the oil and powersteering fluid, i put some undercoating on it... what are some other very cheap things i can work on to keep me entertained/ take care of jeep?

Paint the fenders, interior (speaker covers, vent's etc...) You could also paint the chrome headlight bezels black I did that recently and love the look of black eyes. Cost ya a couple bucks for paint.

Herculine the interior. Under $100 and will keep you busy for 2 days, and will let you run carpetless in the summer, taking some of the anxiety away from being topless in the 'chance of showers' days.

I was going to ask if anyone suggested Herculining, but now I'm convinced!

ADKJOE: What kind of paint did you use on your headlight bezels? The chrome has to go!

Also, something I did that wasn't too expensive and made the Jeep look awesome; get rid of the yellow t/s lenses and marker lenses. I got the clear ones, it looks much better!

Anybody know the screw size for the headlight bezels? Mine are missing. I'm not sure what's keeping them on. I'll figure it out when I go to paint them. The black eyes are awesome. I'll never understand why, the only chrome thing on the whole rig is the bezels?

There is a little lip in there that holds them in. The size I'm not sure of... If I think about it I will try and look it up.

if you use a sander to scuff it up, dont go on full speed with an 18v drill and press it right against it, youll rip off the base chrome and itll look like crap like mine.

^thx!

When I painted the bezels I cleaned them and scuffed them up good with a scotch brite. Make the chrome dull. It's soft plastic though so be careful.

Buy a HID DDM kit. costs around $100, relatively cheap compared to all the other crap you end up doing to your Jeep.
Install a PA Horn, around $20-$30, the most expensive being buying the PA Horn (provided you have a CB)
Trim your Fender Flares
Car Wash
Paint your D Rings

It's $89 at Autozone, it comes in a kit...A gallon of liner, 2 rollers, and a scuffy pad.

Nope, I just painted mine black. Try priming it and making sure you do sand it down and wipe it with acetone. Most times people have trouble with painting is because they dont prep/prime it right.

Also my opinion, try U Pol Raptor, not Herculiner. And if you do Herculiner, Spray it

I sipe by using a sticker remover razor tool to make a 1 or 2 cuts across each middle lug on my KM2s, BFGMTs, and BFGATs

When you do the Herculiner, do you remove the console or just the seats. Month 4 of Jeep ownership and I'm still a little skeered of tearing something up.

Instead of making this a Herculiner thread - here's the write-up jgano did that I mentioned earlier - Herculiner DIY
But yeah, you'll want to remove the console. It's easier than removing the seats.
