cigar lighter help

So my cig lighter has been working since i got the jeep maybe 6 months ago but the other day I tryd to use my lighter and it was stuck in there I had to pull really hard to get it out after that it hasnt worked not the light the car charger r anything. So I checked all the fuses under the hood and behind the glove box they looked good to me then checked the wires going to the lighter and they also seemed fine didnt have any freyed spots are spots that looked like they were burned. Could it be the actual socket got messed up or broke? Any other suggestions would br great thanks very much.

Probably broke the cigarette element (the actual unit). They're pretty flimsy and usually need replacing every few years anyways. Just remove it. There's a plug on the back but I've never figured out how to actually properly remove it. I just spliced and installed a new one. AutoZone and NAPA carry replacements.
