Check ebay. I forgot how much they were but I believe you can get them a little cheaper.

If you're putting them on a Black Jeep, get the Smoked ones.

I have them on mine, and they don't even look like they are there, until they are Lit Up.

i looked at both the clear and the smoked ones when i was looking for some for my black tj. i choose the smoked because everything is black on my jeep. if your a fan of chrome and have chrome bumpers and stuff like that then the clear ones look very nice

my jeep passed inspection just fine here in NC. and i went to the toughest inspection place in town. you can double check with your local law enforcement on the exact law regarding the lights.

As long as you have the amber bulbs underneath the clear ones they should. Have them on mine and it passed.

Agree with checking your state laws. Should be able to find in a search. Here in NC the only thing is tail lights have to be red lenses and not tinted (though I am sure some get through).

Front lights are amber or white and visible from 100ft. I was a bit leery of the spray tint so I got the smoke lenses (my TJ is sienna pearl). They look great and light up just fine. 2 inspections strong.

So then the same thing would go for the Smoked ones. As long as you got Amber Bulbs, you should be all good.

...but it's up to the Inspection Station as to whether or not they want to Fail you because you don't have an Amber Reflector up Front. That's all that matters is the Reflector.

You mean the lens, right? The reflector just reflects the light from the bulb making the light brighter and more visible, which should be amber or clear depending on state law. State law should also dictate if the lens is required to be amber or if visible light is the rule for inspection.

No, I'm not Talking about Reflector Based Optics, I'm Talking about the Reflector that is In the LENS. You know, how when your Lights Hit a Reflector at Night on a Pole or another Vehicle, it Reflects whatever Color Light the Reflector is.

The LENS can be whatever Color (Clear, Amber, Smoke) but the Lack of an Amber REFLECTOR is what will make you Fail Inspection.

That's why Vehicles have Red Reflectors on the Rear and Amber on the Front. Amber Represents the Front of the Vehicle, Red Represents the Rear. If you put a Clear Reflector On a Vehicle, whether it be from Clear Marker Lights or Clear Tail Lights, it's going to Light Up White at Night, and Confuse People that don't Use their Common Sense.

State Law does Dictate Light Color. It must be Amber or Clear Light, that is Made by the Bulb or Lens. If you have a Clear Lens, you can Use either Clear or Amber Bulbs. If you have an Amber Lens, you can Use Clear Bulbs, or if you want the Light to be REALLY Amber, Use an Amber Bulb as well.

Did you tint the amber lenses with a spray, or buy actual tinted lenses? (I'm deciding wether to go clear or tinted with mine.)
Thanks

Thanks Hobbit I wonder if the smoked ones would shine white (well tinted) with a clear bulb in them or if they are tinted amber lenses? It looks like they might just be amber tinted ones as Alex has clear bulbs in his?

Hows the tint film holding up TLATE?

Dang, not the info I was looking for lol...
I think I'll be going clear with a mirrored bulb, then it will stay clear with no amber at all when off.
Thanks everyone for the info and help

The tinted ones you buy are clear/tinted. You need to put in a amber bulb if you want the to be shine amber.

Ok, I'm just confused then, a clear lens with clear bulb should be clear/white light, not yellow, no?
