Climate Controller Problems

So about six months ago, my cousin and I were looking at my sliding climate controls because the slider that controls whether it is hot or cold wouldn't move. My cousin pushed on it as hard as he could, and there was a snap and now the slider will slide freely for the cold section, but won't go up into the heat. The slider that controls which setting/vents it is on works perfectly still. Also, my jeep is constantly blowing out hot air whenever my foot is on the gas. The hot air only comes out of the tiny little section above the vents and doesn't come out if my foot isn't on the gas. I've looked at the controller under the dash on the passenger's side and it looks ok. We didn't snap one of the arms off or anything. However, when you pull on the line, it's still just as tough and you can't get the slider into the heat part. It's a 98 4.0L and I don't have AC. I can't figure out what happened/what parts I would need to replace. Thanks

you get this rresolved yet? Sounds like something "snapped" in there and will need a repair. I have a similar issue with my temp select control. Mine wont go all the way to "cold" - it stops in the middle. My plan is to remove the a/c controls and take a closer look.
