CLOSE call with the storms in TN for my TJ

well went to work last night and there was a small tree that had fallen in the parking lot, i was able to drive the jeep over it to get out tho, got to work and was told all the flights (im a mechanic) were cancled, so clock in and go home, got home and decided to move my camaro (as i owe 7000 on it and blue book is 2500, so even with full coverage id be screwed lol) if a tree hit the jeep id be ok with full coverage so i just left it where it was, well went out this morning and a bunch more, much larger trees had fallen durring the night, the largest of which is 2 spots over from my Tj lol, and that is the EXACT spot my camaro was! even better is someone parked on my left and was kind enough to "block" the tree from my TJ lol!!!! altho it did scratch my top a little

heres some pics of the carnage!

Schools been closed here all week since the buses can't get out to most of the kids because of flooding and downed trees. The son is loving it. He's been out everyday with his friends from the football team and my chainsaw helping people clear out the mess.

Talk to your lender about buying GAP insurance on the Camaro... just in case. That way if it's totaled it at least covers the note.

The right place will. Some companies specialize in just this sort of thing. There is one that does Cameros. LOL

Glad you and your vehicles are ok.

If you go for gap insurance, make sure you read the fine print on it. I have gap insurance, but it only covers up to 125% of the value of the car, so in a scenario like this mine would help, but would not cover it completely.

lol i pulled the little one out of the way last night, but there is actually about 4 trees down right there and one is still rooted partially so no way my jeep would pull it lol. plus 2 peoples cars got hit and are still in the mess of tree, and the big one is still sticking out of our building lol went in the peoples windows on the first and second floor so dont feel like moving it for that reason as well lol!

Been following the news from up here in NY. Looks like you guys had some crazy sh!t roll through. Glad to see you're ok and the Jeep was narrowly missed. Almost like there was divine intervention on where the tree fell. If there's a God, I'm sure he drives a Jeep:P
Hope you get the stuff cleare up and life back to normal soon.

Well, I was at work in Knoxville, and had hail size of baseballs for about 7-10 min straight....and got a wonderful 4.5 inch wide crack above the passenger seat on my hardtop!!...didn't think that was possible....

I am in Knoxville too, and my hood got all beat up from the hail. That's one of the times that I was glad to have a soft top. Only the hood got damaged. Definitely could have been much worse.

its 125% of the kelly blue book value of the car, which in a case like mine wouldnt cover crap, my car is an 89 camaro that KBB has priced around 2500, but i owe 7500 on it, so 125% would still leave me paying on a totaled car for a while

We had em to the north by less than 2 miles and to the south by less than 1...

Jeep was okay and has been my driver through all of this.

These are just a few of the area to my south. The EF4 to our north level trees and wiped homes off their foundations. They are just gone.

The EF4 storm going north of us - even a few miles away, our house was shaking.

These pics don't EVEN begin to do justice to what we went through. My home is fine other than a few trees in the back down. We're headed back out today to clear more debris.

A town not too far from us was completely wiped out. One of my troops has family up there that were picked up and thrown in a field (two are still in ICU), house completely gone. His uncle's birth certificate was found 165 miles away.
