M tired of looking so hard with no real results. Made a 2 hour trip to look at a promising Jeep AGAIN and of course, it ended up being a joke

Good advice here. Maybe if you have some large city's in driving distance call their lots and asked if they have used wranglers to look at. If so drive out to take a look. Make people email you pics before you waste your gas if you want to. I can take a pic of my jeep with my phone and send it to you in a minute. If I'm legit and want to sell I'll do so quick. Ask for interior and exterior pics.

It has to be under $9000. I realize no JK will be priced this low so it would have to be a TJ. AC is a must since it will be my daily driver and miles lower than 150k would be great. 6 cyl is the goal but if all else fails I wouldn't mine a 4 cyl manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks so much guys

how long have you been searching for a tj? many of us here on WF spent over 6 months before finding one, took me 7.5 months of daily searching and at least 20 trips to inspect and drive used tj's for sale........hang in there.

Try to be patient. I searched for approx two years. Year one, I was fishing and feeling out the market. Year 2 is when I kicked up the search full time, which finally paid off w the color, options and year I preferred. And it wasn't close to home: 3 hours + away but well worth the wait. If you know what you want (within reason) don't settle just yet. Believe me, it's not easy! Best of luck- you'll be very happy when you find the 'right one'

It took me 1 month to find a the new one i wanted and i had a blank check to give to the dealers.... It was incredibly hard to find a JKU sport, black, soft top with a 6 spd.... apparently no one can drive 6 spds anymore....

Maybe after summer people will sell off their jeeps....being top down season and all

Patience....patience .....patience. The system I have had success with is Autocheck and run vin#s and create a file and eliminate through Year, amenities, color, price, etc. and widen your search area. If you need any detailed help I can offer just ask. good luck.....and don't give up while your in the 4th turn.

Definitly be patient bro: Bought my current TJ a year ago, after searching for about 3 months. Looked at a LOT of crap that I could hardly believe folks were trying to pass off as "safe to drive"! LoL. Rusty crap, beat up crap, high mileage crap...crap they tried to convince me as "The best your gonna find around these parts"! Was a real eye opener...One day I was driving home from work, in my crappy beat up Mustang, and there she was! Stopped by to take a look, went back next morning with my mechanic friend and poked, prodded and pinched everything...got the price where I was happy and boom! No regrets...Keep looking.

From my experience, both jeeps that I have owned have fell into my hands without even trying. I bought my first TJ 4.0 l6 for 4,500 with a clean title, 60k miles, cold AC, hard top, stock, rust free. But then again, I bought it from a shady guy who is now facing prison time for smuggling of narcotics who constantly bothers me and calls me demanding more money.

I originally wanted a 2002 Camaro SS, I didn't want a Jeep but for the price I could not pass up the offer. My plan was to buy the Jeep, flip it and buy a Camaro as my first car. Turns out I fell in love with the jeep.

I just got my YJ three weeks ago and that one just fell into my hands. A friend of my pop's was discussing how he wants to leave and move out of town but could not take the jeep. He said he posted it on Craigslist, Auto Trader, etc. It is in rough condition but my old man told me to go take a look at it. It only had a serious rust of patch on one side of the frame which I will get fixed, it has no top, no ac, it's a 4cycl, 4x4 works, original 85k miles, stock, and clean title.

I caught the guy while he was intoxicated and got the jeep for $900 when he wanted $1,900 for it. I have no plans for it but to use it as my beach buggy and slowly fix it up.

I've been looking within a 200 mile radius and can easily find a 4cyl in your area. 6 cyl is another thing but with a 9k budget I've seen them in the Nashville area. What specifically are you looking for and I'll keep an eye out and help you find one cause I'm searching nashville all the time. It's a little harder for me because I'm really specific with what I want but sooner or later it'll come

Found a blue one and a yellow one in Nashville on Craigslist this afternoon, both with pretty low miles and nice looking just FYI

I DO NOT understand how some people are SO lucky. If your telling the truth that just blows my mind that someone would be that stupid or even worse, desperate, to sell a vehicle less than half of value. Good for you, I'll never be that lucky lol.
