Clutch Or transmission Issue?

Hello All!

I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. One day at work, I parked in the morning. At lunch I tried to drive and it turned on perfectly, but could not put it into gear (any gear). I purchased a slave clutch cylinder and installed it. After bleeding the cylinder and line, the clutch pedal got too hard to press all the way. So I bled a couple more times and the pedal loosened-up but the jeep still does not want to take any gear. Would it be the Master Cylinder? Or am I facing an in-transmission issue? Help!

Well it could be a throwout bearing or broken tangs on the pressure plate. Have you noticed any noise before it broke? Otherwise, I'd say the master/slave just need to be bled. It's a large pain, and usually much easier to replace them as a unit pre-bled from the factory. I had to use a one-man brake bleeding kit, and eventually it worked, but there was still air in it, and after a few days I couldn't take it anymore, so I just replaced the whole set.
