Color scheme question?

Alright gang, thanks for tuning it and offering any advice you have! In short, this is a multi step question. The first part of this is informing you all that I have a red TJ, stock except for lifted 32's with chrome rims, and no spare tire. My questions are as follows. I want my off color to be chrome, and I think keeping the black will look good. So i'll tell you my (hopefully future) modifications and you tell me if it will fit. I want to add chrome nerf bars, a chrome bumper front bumper, chrome back bumper, chrome spare tire, and maybe a set of lights above the windshield. I think that this will all look really good together, let me know your opinions? Is this a viable color scheme? And for the multi-step part, is there a way for me to incorporate a winch into the red/chrome/black color scheme and still look good? Thanks for the help! Pictures to guide words are always appreciated, have a good day and happy jeepin'!

-Dalton

My guidance and many other on this forum: CHROME DOES NOT BELONG ON A JEEP.

What color scheme would go best with a red then?

There is a Jeep where I live that is silver and has chrome front and rear bumper that are stock and stock chrome side steps chrome mirrors chrome sway bar cover and chrome grill inserts.

Its one of the ugliest Jeeps I have ever seen. My 2 cents, all that chrome your wanting to put on just doesn't belong anywhere near a Jeep and all of it would look better if it was black or replaced with off road bumpers.
You don't want your Jeep looking like this do you?

Good point...

No sir, I do not want any of that lol. I think you're right too bad I already bought side steps. But a lesson learned for damn sure! I'll probably go black in that case, do you think the rims that I have on already(in my profile picture) are okay to stay though?

Your Rims I like. You can hit your side steps with Plasti-dip and you'll be fine. I'd go black if I were you for everything but your Rims.

Just think of how much that Chrome would chip..

Its your Jeep you can do what you wish. Lol you could paint it pink with yellow flowers and chrome everywhere if you really wanted haha. From what I can see your wheels are fine. I've always liked red Jeeps with 15" chrome wheels.

I'd do rustoleum spray bed liner. Plasti dip wont hold up to that.

I'll be replacing my black cragars with 15" savvy beadlocks when this set needs changing.......more of an excuse to peel out.........new tires and Rims sound tastey right about now.

If Plasti dipping Rims holds up why wouldn't a side step?

Mine are bed lined, and so are my flares.

Well if he doesn't step on them they'll be fine. I would just imagine it would Peel from your feet. And I bet if you scraped your wheel the plasti dip would peel off.

So i'm a bit weary on exactly the purposes/uses of plastidip and bed liner are... so you're recommending I paint over the step bars with rustoleum or plastidip to make them, say... black? I like the idea if I'm picking it up right!

Nope, Plasti-dip is tough sh!t and your rim won't peel if you wack it. You'd have to do it by hand.

And yes, bed liner to make them black

I have plasti dip on my Hood and I can scrub it with a rag when I wash my Jeep and it does just fine. I guess I don't have enough faith in it haha.

And yes, its to make it black. Here's my Jeep with the Hood plasti dipped and the grill with rustoleum bed liner

P.S. see no chrome!

I know I am new here but wanted to give my opinion. Chrome looks good if its done right. My 2000 TJ is bright yellow with chrome bumpers, wheels etc. Easy to mud off of also. Just for what its worth. Thanks for the great forum
