coming up on 150,000 miles

im coming up on 150K on my tj and wondering what kind of maintance i need to focus on at this point, no current issues with it, other that the famous noise in motor as it warms up. has new front brakes, plugs and wires, belt and fresh oil. i know i have to do rear brakes soon and going to put new diff fluid in but wondering if there were any specific things to get done before they cause problems? its a 4.0/ auto

My tranny was making noise at about 145k on my 4.0 98 TJ. Rebuilt it for 1200 with a shit kit installed. Nice piece of mind instead of worrying about it for that price. A 3 speed auto with no OD is cheap to rebuild.
Ive since sold that one and now I have a 97 TJ 4 cyl 5 speed. 4 angry squirrels haha.

LOL. I installed once of those "shit kits" as well. It was pure crap!

My TJ has just over 160K....I worked at a Ford/ Mercedes dealer about 30 odd years ago....and whether it was marketing or a good idea...the Ford service manager started selling the same "maintenance" schedules as the Mercedes......Changing things we usually never think of brake fluid, power-steering fluid, etc.

I never fully bought into it per say, but I have been a little "anal" about following fluid changes....generally motor oil every 3K, axles every 24K, and everything else every 50K. (when I say everything else that means all fluids) IDK it might be "Overkill" but my '04 TJ has 165K+ miles and no issues ever do to fluid.....I did have to have the seals done about 3 months ago on the rear axle.

I feel that our fluids are like the life blood of the Jeep and I want the best and "cleanest" I can reasonably afford to have in it.
