Common frame rust spots?

I have a 94 YJ, but it's giving me a LOT of problems. Right now it's out getting the fuel pump replaced, plus I have to get a steel plate welded into the frame to extend the life, and I'm not willing to do either of those things myself. So, while I will have the YJ for awhile more, I'm just curious, because another jeep will be common eventually- Are there any specific areas to watch out for frame rot on TJ's? On the yj, up near the steering box, and back by the rear shackles are where to watch out for- But the tj has an entirely different suspension, so I'm wondering if there's any places to look out for on them.

Mine had a little rust where the transfer case skid plate mounts. I ground down to clean metal and painted 2 coats of rustoleum rusty metal primer and 3 coats of rustoleum paint. I'm going to check it after a few more months and see how it's holding up.

Well thats not too bad. Mine has a nice big hole rotted in it, bout the size of 2 golf balls. But..fairly common problem in YJ's. I really do like my wrongler, but I drove my buddies 2000 tj once...and damn, I was almost jealous. It shifts so SMOOTHLY compared to mine. Although, admittedly, I don't like the shorter shift stick and car-ish dash and amenities that TJ's have. I really do like having a gauge for just about anything. Haven't decided what the next jeep will be- maybe a 94-95 with the 6-cyl, or maybe a TJ. I like my square eyes. I'm really leaning towards the YJ, but I like to keep my options open. Anyway, sorry for rambling, and thanks for the response.

My friends '97 TJ is falling apart around the front lower control arm brackets. All along the wedls and then right under that on the bottom of the fame rail. It's getting pretty bad. My YJ's raer is just falling to pieces. I ripped the upper shock mount off back there and I have a huge hole right behind the shackle mount..
