Conclusions.......

Over the couse of the last week I have been driving the Wrangler more than usual. Mostly because my F250 gets attrocious gas mileage with the V10. And my wife has her car with her out of town. So, Im stuck with the Jeep. I have concluded:

Long trips (more than 10 miles) on the Interstate suck!

Windy days really suck!

Hauling capacity sucks!

Gas mileage sucks!

Noise level is ridiculous!

But, whenever I see it setting in the parking lot I cant wait to get in.

I am always looking for a reason to drive thru a ditch or over something too.

Jeeps are a Love/Hate kinda thing. I guess im hating more lately.

You guys that have a Tj for a DD are more of a man than I even care to be!

I drive mine daily and LOVE to take it on the freeway at 75 topless in the summer! I love 2-4 hour drives with the top and doors off....

We also have a 2007 Jetta.... I will take the Jeep anywhere, anytime over the Jetta....

Am I crazy? NOPE!! Just caught the JEEP THANG!

I was spending $100-150 a week on gas over the summer. Once a graduate, I'm buying a gas saver, and if I have too...I'll sell the Jeep. I hate to say that, but I have to think practically about it.

As for noise, I've got a hard top. I can easily hear my passenger.

My 2000 Tj is actually very comfortable, being 6'2" with the seat all the way back, I have plenty of leg room, & the support in the seats are still in decent shape. I've driven several 300 mile trips and it's fine.

Very windy days are less of a chore since I went to the 33x12.50x15 duratracs, on the DC2s. now the stance is alot wider.

Hauling capacity: It's a Jeep, not a truck.

Keeping a light foot on the skinny pedal and your max speed down at 65mph or less brings great rewards for fuel mileage. I get 16mpg

Since replacing the old soft-top, the noise level isn't too bad, I can talk on my bluetooth ear piece (with the top up).

And I'm always checking out new wheeling places on the way home. especially after a good rain

I drive about 100 miles a day and love it. However, I have to admit that lately I am considering getting a gas-sipping beater for commuting to work. $120 a week at the pumps sucks.

I guess I'm lucky. I drive 24 miles a day and I fill up twice a month. If worked further away I couldn't afford it.
