Confession (don't tell the square headlight folks)

Well I didn't think I'd do it, but I went and sold my '93 YJ 2.5 5 speed in favor of a '97 TJ Sport automatic (3.73 gears).
I hate to admit it but I think I'm in love

Here it is the day I bought it (rainy, the paint really didn't look that good:Click image for larger version

Nice looking jeep. But don't worry I sold my 95 YJ and bought a 00 TJ and I like it a whole lot better but mainly just because its a smoother ride.

Yes, definitely much smoother, plus the wife likes it better (more goodies if she's on board), and the whole 4 cylinder to 6 cylinder thing (not to open a can of worms )

Yeah I had the 2.5 and went with the 4.0 and I'm never turning back.

Looks good! I hated that color when I first got mine, but it's grown on me now. At some point I'm gonna have to redo my hood and cowl because it has some bad oxidization going on. What did you do to yours?

Quadratec sells the genuine Mopar touch-up in 5 oz spray cans for $10.99. I bought 5 of those. I was really careful with the prep and application and then clear coated using the Duplicor clear that is sold in most auto parts stores. I have an orbital buffer / polisher that I used to finish it. It turned out really well as far as color match and shine. It may not be perfect but since it had the dreaded moss green oxidation I figure just about anything is an improvement.

Can I chime in on that 4 to 6 subtopic? I had the 4, and was always saying I had no problems with it (except for that pesky inability to climb any steep hills any faster than about 40mph. Just bought my 2nd Jeep yesterday, and top of the list requirement was 6 cyl. ;-)

sticker is great man, congrats, I remember my dad having a 95' Chili Pepper Red 2.5L Wrangler, was beautiful in my eyes but it rode like a piece of crap and had the power of a bicycle, now my dad is constantly asking for the keys for my 03 Wrangler 4.0L, it's a totally different creature.

I went the other way. Let my TJ go back after the lease and now drive a YJ.

Congrats, you are correct sir. That's exactly what I've been telling everyone.
The Jeep came with the front window tinted that way. I intended to take it off, but the more I drive it the more I like it. I tell folks it's the rare letterbox edition. Plus when driving it feels like I'm looking out of a military vehicle.
I have to admit thought that it does look a little goofy, especially with the top off.

Just a heads up, Sherwinn Williams will mix any chrysler color and put it in a spray can for about 1/3 of the price of the mopar cans. They guarantee an exact match. I used their paint on my new roll cage. Perfecto!
